I'm such an idiot!!! I got all worked up for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!

I did some googling, and found out that the question about discharged/forgiven loans is being asked because starting this tax year, they are no longer taxable by the federal government, but they are still taxable by the state of MA, so it is a general question so the state can make sure it can get all the money they can. It had nothing to do with ME.

As for my tax forms, I had an epiphany last night... the loan people said they sent out those tax forms in 2012 and 2013. So, they were probably for tax years 2011 and 2012, and that's why there was nothing on my 2013 return. They were. I paid taxes in 2011 and 2012. I checked everywhere, and I paid federal and state taxes on ALL of my loans, so I don't have to worry about this bull s- anymore!!!

Now I can just finish up this year's taxes using the very easy H&R Block software, and we can get our modest refunds

I went grocery shopping yesterday, and the cashier happened to mention something about St. Patrick's Day being on Sunday. I had no idea. I paid for my groceries and had to go back and buy corned beef and all the trimmings.

I've been in my own little world cleaning, making phone calls, and sticking my nose in my filing cabinet, so I'm in a time warp. I don't even know what month it is. St. Patrick's Day is usually a BIG deal for me, and I pre-order my corned beef from the butcher shop. At least she reminded me, and I didn't have to take another trip to the store later.

I made a list of our expenses last night (I had Corey check it over), and we can afford a new car as long as the monthly payment is within the range I'm comfortable with. I don't want to feel squeezed. The plan last night was to go to the dealership today. They're having a huge blow out, and are supposed to be giving cars away... we'll see if they actually are.
Corey said he wants to go early, but he's still in bed. He got super-drunk last night.

Yes!!! We bought a new car!!!

It's a 2017 navy blue Chevy Impala. It's absolutely beautiful, and it's FULLY loaded! It has leather interior with the fake wood trim inside, and TONS of bells and whistles that will take me a lifetime to figure out lol. We never could have afforded a new car nearly as nice as that, with features like that. Our monthly payment is $1 more than what I said I was willing to pay. I think I can live with that. lol

Because it was a big event, we ended up waiting at the dealership for about 5 hours start to finish because they were selling so many cars that there was a long wait for the financing piece of things. We were there so long, I almost forgot we were buying a new car, and it was hard to be excited about anything. The 2 people working with us were very nice, interesting people. They were around a lot, and we did enjoy our conversations with them, but we just wanted to get the hell out of there.

I had to get into a money booth, and make an a- out of myself, but I caught $89, and will get a check for that. One of the sales people took a video and sent it to me. I should erase all the evidence tho!

I test drove the car in the new parking lot, and really liked it, but Corey drove it home (there was no way I could drive anywhere after being out so long), and absolutely loved it. It's a V6, so it really likes to go. He was so happy and animated about the car how awesome it is last night. It was nice to see him so happy like that. But the car will really be mine because I will be the one driving it all the time. It's huge compared to the Chevy Cobalt, so I'm finally going to have to learn how to park lol.

We have to do laundry today, so I get to drive it there and back. While we're waiting for the clothes to finish, we can take a look at the owner's manual and try to figure out how everything works.

I have to drop off the title to our old car at the dealership on Monday, then go to my insurance agent, then probably the DMV. Then I will have to get an inspection sticker at some point. I don't know how long I have to do that tho. We rolled out state taxes into the loan, so I don't have to worry about that, but I'm sure our insurance will go way up.

I am very happy
But I will probably be happier tomorrow after I get to drive it more than just around a parking lot!!!

I love driving the new car! It's so comfortable, and driving it feels so nice, I feel so spoiled

We really over-paid for it tho. I was too fixated on the monthly payment, and was delirious because I was there so f'ing long... I should have negotiated more, but there's nothing I can do about that now.

We bought the car in NH, but live in MA. We paid the taxes, but an out-of-state dealership can't register a car for you, at least in MA. I will probably keep the same plates I have. My insurance agent may be able to register it for me when I go there to take care of the insurance end of things tho. IDK.

The corned beef I bought was terrible. It was sooooooo salty even though I bought the gray vs. the red. Corey said he liked it (Rocky liked it, too). Maybe it will be better as hash IDK, but I was very disappointed, and in the BR less than an hour later.

I have to drive to the dealership to drop off the title, pick up some things I ordered online from PetSmart, go to the insurance agent, then possibly the DMV today. So, it will be a full day. I'll get to drive the new car on the highway, so that will be fun tho!

I woke up with a cold, so I'm dragging my a-. But I need to get going soon.
