I'm having more problems with the blood pressure machine
than the other right now. But its been okay so far.

But I can't seem to get my feet on the floor and the
thing to work right. So I think the problem is that I'm
tall and my legs are long so its part of my whole problem.

So I'm working to figure it all out.

But since you take the blood pressure in bed at the hospital
if I cant after say 2 or 3 times get a good one. I sit on the
couch or somewhere with legs up and take it.

And its fine usually.

Sitting position is the best, but do whatever works for you and is most comfortable, Donna.

The only position that would REALLY effect a reading is if you were laying flat on your back.

Also standing...

Interesting. Thanks Kay.

Curious so how can they take it in the hospital with you laying
down then if it effects with you laying on your back.

Just curious.

From my experiences working in hospitals:

We would take it whenever we could get it because people are sick, and we didn't want to disturb them too much. We were just concerned with whether or not the readings were within or close to normal range. If we got an abnormal reading, then we would ask the patient to move, or will pull them up and elevate the head of the bed. Sometimes we would have to take BPs on patients' thighs or calfs!!! Those were always off, but I guess the nurse and doctors knew what to expect from readings in those areas.

Also, if we got a reading that was off the charts, or too low, we would take the BP on the other arm. Sometimes if BPs on arms are very different, it's a bad sign, and something that needed to be reported ASAP.

Thanks Kay

Just really was curious.

By the way I think I forgot to tell you guys Dan saw his Psychiatrist
last week. He explained he can't always get all the meds in without
getting sick. So she is going to work on switching him to
the ones that he can go get them as a shot.

I am so impressed with the way he is getting his thoughts out
and telling his psychiatrist especially how it feels and that it makes
him sick. Or that even when he gets it in to his body that he
goes to sleep and sleeps through the other half of the time.

I'm so happy that Dan has been doing so well, and can express himself so well to his pdoc. Whatever meds he is taking are obviously helping. I'm glad that he will be able to take 1 (or more?) in a shot, so hopefully he doesn't have to stop taking any of his meds because they seem to be working so well

From what you've been reporting, it sounds like everyone is doing well

If anyone sees Mother Nature, would you please tell her
Indiana would like to see spring not snow and sleet.

I think we are all tired of it.

Ugh, I'm ready for good weather.
