Kay And everyone

My Partner in crime (Derrick) came home with me last night. Unexpectedly
it seems the newest provider thought it was perfectly okay to drop Derrick
off at the wrong building and just leave him at an unopen building at Purdue.
i got a call at 7:00pm, of course it was pitch black out. i was at a meeting
on the other side of town in Lafayette he was in West Lafayette at Purdue.
No clue where he was. My first comment was, tell me were you are I'll
come get you. His next back I have no clue, with an hysterical kid, and
I'm trying to calm him down from the hyperventilating. I get him somewhat
calmed down. Tell him to walk to the first open building, knowing it might
be a while, because some if not a lot are locked. And I tell him I'm going to get off the phone with him so I can figure out what to do to figure out were he is or what to do. So I go towards, the ladies at the desk, who are asking me what is wrong. I'm shaking and upset. So they kind of take over after I tell them the problem. And my thought. I have just called my friend Shannon, and his old provider, I can't find the on call number, and say to her give me the on call, she says Grace just called Derrick isn't at best buddies. I said, I know I can't explain right this second I need to figure out what to do. She says we don't call on call. I'll call Aubrey, I couldn't find her number. Well I say, Derrick is lost at Purdue, explain a little more. But she says were at, I said, he has no clue were. I think I'm calling the Purdue Police. I don't know how else to find him. I just told him to find a open building. She and I get off phone. The ladies are looking at me, I said do you know how to find Purdue's police number, they look it up. But then they call it for me. I can't even talk. Then the other one tries calling Derrick back, she knew he was so upset. The other one has my phone calling the police. So we get it established I'll call him back and tell him the police will be calling him to tell him they are looking for him. And they will get him. So they do, and take him to the location his access bus is picking him up later. And his friend is there waiting. And she is riding back with him at least. That was only reason I was willing to wait on him at home. So he is here all weekend. We are maybe going to meet his behavior therapist so he can talk it out tomorrow. But that is because he needs to de-stress it. So that was my excitement.
I've never had to ask the police to find my son. he said, they had blocked the roads off to find him. Thats fine they found him.

OMG Donna, that's terrible!

Both of you must have been absolutely frantic! I'm so glad that those ladies were there to help you. I feel so badly that Derrick was there lost and alone

I'm glad that Derrick came home to you last night. I hope that being there made him feel safe and better. How are the two of you doing today?

I'm tired and I think he probably even though he thinks he slept
good is too. I got about 2 1/2 hours sleep so I know why I am.

We got a call alittle while ago to do the incident report. So he
was upset for a while. And I was worried about what might
happen, but I think it will get better now. He did a good job
telling the lady what had happened. I'm glad he and I had talked
about whether he really wanted to work with this guy again or
not. Because I wasn't sure I wanted him too. And he thought about
it and had decided no he didn't. What if he had run out of gas, out
in a different area, and they had to wait on someone else to get to
them. Or even the guy had walked away. So the lady at the end
said, that he wouldn't be working with Derrick again. So we kind
of both looked at each other. And I told her that was good because
we had already made that decision. And would she make sure that
his person that was in charge knew because he was scheduled for
tomorrow and I didn't want him just showing up and no one there.

So its been handled twice. So now to wait on the report, and to
see if he gets turned into Adult protective services. And I'm also
guessing that he might get terminated from the company. But
that we may not know.

OMG!!!
What a nitemere!
I am glad that he was found safely. I am trying to understand how you must have felt. I am not a mother so I have no way of knowing the terror that you felt other than what you wrote to us..
I am glad that it is resolved for the time being.
hugs to you both tonight.
