I am listening to BAch and reading Julia Quinn. If I get the kitty Cecilia will drive me.

Well done on the shower, Bizi.

I've been asking for help!!!

Dmom3005 12-07-2018 12:33 PM

That is the best thing you can do.

Yah.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

Dmom3005 12-14-2018 09:58 AM

Wow, we haven't talked on this thread in a while. I finally took a
shower last night. Its been so cold here and its not easy to
do an shower. I do lots of clean ups and then get to going.

I'm hopefully slowing down with my families for 2018. We will
see. I'm still receiving calls but they will be for services in 2019.

I showered today and washed my hair!

OhKay 02-27-2019 04:54 PM

Great job Bizi! :)

I think you should treat yourself to a manicure soon if you haven't already done so. You need to be pampered right now :hug::hug:

Mari 02-27-2019 08:03 PM

That's great, Bizi!

Keep taking care.

OhKay 02-28-2019 10:16 AM

I treated myself to Chinese food last night... the kind I like, but hardly ever get because Corey won't eat: Mixed veggies in (spicy) garlic sauce, fried rice, chicken teriyaki, and wonton soup. It was unbelievably good :)

bizi 02-28-2019 10:24 AM

sounds delicious!
YOu have to treat yourself!

I have eczema all over my hands even though I was mostly wearing gloves when I was cleaning. I'm treating it with TONS of Gold Bond lotion, hydrocortisone cream, and Aquaphor...

I've stopped washing my hands so much, which is very hard for me because of my OCD, because the eczema will never heal otherwise.

Mari 03-02-2019 01:44 AM

Good luck, Kay.

Sending healing vibes for your hands.

took a shower and washed my hair.
got my new concealer and threw out the old one to cover my bright red nose from rosacea flare up(pimples etc).
That old make up was 10 years old!
bizi

OhKay 04-04-2019 01:54 PM

Oh dear! 10 year old make-up could definitely have been making your pimples worse, especially if it wasn't water-based. I keep mine too long (1-2yrs) because I hardly use it, and get breakouts from it. I just bought some new stuff and washed my brushes in shampoo. They really should put expiration dates on that stuff. I think you will have better luck with the new one, if only because it's new :hug::hug:

bizi 04-04-2019 04:39 PM

At the gym they have this light machine, I have used it twice. I think it is helping my skin. It is not a tanning booth, just bright light.
I got a manicure today and a clear gel polish...it looks so nice!
I was driving home and thought I could just stop by whole foods and have a beer, no one would know as I did not have any clients today.
It rained hard and flooded the area out of town where I was going to we rescheduled it for next week.
I could have just as easily gone to fat pats for a couple of beers too.
But instead I said...I am sticking to this diet and came home.
I will make up my new smoothie instead of snacking on cheese and nuts like usual.
Here is to self care!:)

Dmom3005 04-05-2019 06:04 PM

Good for you Bizi

Donna :hug::grouphug:

OhKay 04-06-2019 08:32 AM

I'm happy that you feel like the light machine at the gym is helping your skin :)
I didn't know that you were going to the gym recently. That is awesome, even if it is just for the light machine or the massage (?) bed that you need

Kudos for resisting the cravings you were having and keeping the promise you made to yourself, and going home to make your smoothie to stick to your diet plan (((HUGS)))

Definitely good self-care

I showed my scars to the nurses at the infusion center yesterday, and they were amazed at what a wonderful job Dr. Chen did stitching me up, especially considering how invasive the surgery I had was.

But we have a HUGE mirror in our bathroom, and the scars are really, really bothering me. I'm just loaded with scars in general. So, recently I started putting Mederma on the new ones every morning. I can't see any difference yet. It will take time, but hopefully they will at least fade, and I will feel better.

There is no hope for my other scars tho. Mederma has done all it can do for them.

bizi 04-06-2019 09:10 AM

I hope the mederma helps.

some people get tattoos to cover up scars.

OhKay 04-08-2019 08:01 AM

No descriptions, but I have several scars from my s/s attempt, and some are very big. I would LOVE to have most of them tattooed over, but it would be extremely expensive. It is something I have thought about A LOT. If I won the lottery, getting the tattoo's would be one of the first things I would do.

Dmom3005 04-08-2019 08:58 AM

Sorry you have the scars. I have some scars too. But mine are
from surgeries and they aren't too big. And more just will hurt
and be troublesome that way.

Which makes it a pain to have them.

I took a shower yesterday, thankfully I got it in before it rained
since I didn't know it was supposed to.

I took a shower today and washed my hair. Put make up on concealer, eye liner and lipstick, even put on some perfume that I had not put on in years. Hubby said I looked nice.
Getting ready to go to brunch at the diner.

You sound so good. I also took a shower today, had to hurry though.
In between rains. Because of the silly rain. I couldn't wash my hair
just got it wet.

I think my rosacea has finally calmed down.
This is the skin care regimen That is working:
AM:
Wash face with exfoliating seaweed/coffee/charcoal soap
Apply mad hippie vit c serum
apply concealer and eye liner and lipstick
apply regenerist moisturizer to fore head and temples,

the dry skin area avoiding t zone.

PM:
Take off make up with benzol peroxide cleaner on make up areas (tzone)

use vasoline for eye liner removal

wash all of face with the soap.

apply moisturizer to dry areas.
finally apply thin layer of benzoperoxide to nose and other acne areas.

Mari 04-21-2019 03:31 AM

That's good, Bizi. :):):)
-=-=-=

Mine is even manifesting on the skin inside my ears -- rough patches
of skin. So annoying.

I canceled the follow-up appointment because getting lost
in the parking garage was too traumatic to repeat.

M

OhKay 04-21-2019 09:21 AM

Wow that's a lot of work, Bizi. And that's great self-care! :)

Mari, I'm sorry it's too hard to go back to the dermatologist. Have you tried anything OTC for the rough patches on your ears yet?

Mari 04-21-2019 06:03 PM

Kay,

I haven't tried his cream.

It's too much work and I am not hopeful.
I cry a lot.

That is okay, Mari :hug::hug::hug:

I would much rather you give up on treating little rough patches on your ears so that you have more energy to put into the other things you need to do everyday :hug::hug:

I can't imagine how much you are suffering right now, and I'm sorry that you are crying so often (((HUGS)))

When is the last time you saw your pdoc? I know that you aren't trying any new meds, but is she helpful at all?

bizi 04-22-2019 09:34 AM

((((HUGS and LOVE))))))
for Mari.
bizi

Mari 04-23-2019 03:07 AM

Kay,

I last saw pdoc April 12.

I did not tell her but I've been reducing my Klonopin a little.

I want to have extras.

It's also possible that Klonopin is making my
mood worse -- I HAVE NO WAY TO KNOW.

M

OhKay 04-23-2019 09:38 AM

I can understand why you would want extra Klonopin after the issues you had with your last refill, and it is comforting to know you will have some extras there if you need them

I think that Klonopin could be contributing to your low mood, but you are right, you will probably never know for sure if it is. If you need it, obviously take it tho if you take it PRN?. There's no need to suffer if the benefits outweigh the risks at the time :hug::hug:

I wish your pdoc could do more for you. I don't think hiding the fact that you're taking a little less Klonopin would hinder that in any way :hug::hug:

Mari 04-25-2019 02:50 AM

I started lowering the dose when I saw that I was running low and the
pdoc's office was being difficult.

Worse: when the script finally got straightened out the pharmacy said that they
had ORDERED
it and would have it for me when it came in. ! ! !

(They did not have it in stock????)

Mari 04-25-2019 03:02 AM

Kay,

This is what the dosing says on the bottle:

Clonazepam 1 mg tablet

Take 1/2 tablet twice a day and 1 to 2 tablets at bedtime.
