Red face

What gets you out of anxiety? (besides meds)

I used to drink to deal with anxiety,

now I drink hot water flavored with stevia,

sometimes hot tea but lately just hot water,
holding on to the cup as a buffer between people.
jeff is going to a big gathering tomorrow with

a friend of his. I do not want to go, lots of food and drinking.
I don't want to be tempted food wise. It is a christmas party and I won't know any one. So I am not going. Glad that hubby is going with his friend. He wanted to go but would not go alone.
So that is how I am dealing with my anxiety.

Thanks for that bizi. I don't get anxiety attacks very often but that approach usually works for me.

Another thing which can help is a deep breathing exercise; sometimes an anxiety attack can be triggered by breathing too shallowly.

An example is; Breathe in deeply. Count to 10. Breathe out deeply. Count to 10. Breathe in deeply. Count to 10. Breathe out deeply. Count to 10....

Doing this for 5-10 minutes usually works for me.

I have had 2 full-blown anxiety attacks since coming home from the hospital. Both were because the spasticity in my legs started to get very bad before going to bed before I started smoking MJ again. I used deep breathing to deal with them- and decided it was time to start smoking again (I was no longer taking pain med). No more since then.

Default Bizi,

Good for you.

Great to hear that you are not going to a party that will not be helpful to you.

Enjoy your time your way.
