I sent the last 2 articles because the first one said it was effective for depression. Which is not what I suffer from. I appreciate your efforts really! thank you again! gotta run am befhind, slept horribly last night about 4 hours of sleep sigh bizi

Dr. Orazio called and asked to see me today, she thought I was rapid cycling.
So I met with her...appointment at 3, did not get to see her until 3;40. She spent over an hour with me. Basically I told her that I run hypomanic and that I wanted to change meds, add on neurontin. she did not want to do that. WE are changing to lithium and vylar. Decreasing the lamictal starting tonight. Decreasing by 100mg then add lithium and leave a small dose of lamictal. they did an ekg and I am to do blood work before I start the lithium. Then a level after 5 days at full dose. I have needed a change for some time now...maybe lithium is the change that I need. Came home and told him that she wanted to admit me to a detox unit for 30 days or an out patient program which I said I would think about. Since I want to still try at controlled drinking then I needed to be honest with my sponsor about that. She will drop me if I told her that. She is very wise and I like her, don't want to lose her support. anyway.... bizi

I’m sorry hun.
I know we talked about both those meds, but not together, and not discontinuing the Lamictal. I hope that the Vraylar be temporary? How do you feel about the med changes? How do you REALLY feel about going to detox right now? You know you can’t be a moderate drinker. Do you just don’t want to go because you don’t feel ready/ don’t want to stop drinking now? No matter what, your feelings are valid, and there is no judgment here (((HUGS))) This is a lot to digest ((( HUGS))) Lots of love to you today! |

I don't want to do the in patient nor the out patient. I am ok with the changes in meds....I hope taht I don't get a tremor. she is going to keep it at 900mg a day in two doses. kay, do you take lithium? bizi

I think she said that she would keep a low dose 100mg of lamictal on board.
vylar she said that she had a patient on it who said that it lifted the fog, so maybe it will help me too? I don't know...have not read anything about it yet. I don't think that I have spelled it correctly. bizi I wanted a change...just am unsure about this. am willing to try though. bizi who wants more stability....

I am some what anxious about switching meds.
She thinks they have stopped working. IN honesty I think they had stopped working a long time ago. I am afraid of change. I have taken lamictal for years and geodon too. Have started the taper off lamictal at first and start on lithium.(she will keep me on a low dose 100mg of lamictal) This is where I am conflicted. Maybe it will be a miracle med for me. I have been unstable for quite some time. My addictions have been crazy. Maybe with more stability...I will be in more control? She wants me to switch to vraylar. Am afraid to take this. How do I get over worrying about extra pyramidal movements...that is a common side effect. Yikes! bizi

what are extra pyramidal movements.? Like TD,I just looked it up. Don't worry. If you have them just stop taking the drug.
