I went to a cardiologist this morning. She is going to appeal the insurance company to cover a drug. I found out that epic doesn't cover my antidepressant
and I will have to pay close to 300 dollars. I don't get that much ss. I have a feeling that the drug she wants me on for cholesterol also won't be covered by epic, a new york state agency so even if the insurance company says I can have it, I don't think I will be able to afford it. I am not depressed because the antidepressant is really working. I will keep on turning off the air conditioner at night. Such is life

One study (1) showed that memory function was best in test subjects with the highest overall levels of cholesterol, and LDL cholesterol in particular.
Some studies found a correlation between dementia and low levels of cholesterol.

just called epic to see why they won't cover aplenzin when they did before. they said the pharmacy made a mistake and should only charge me 20 dollars instead of close to 300 dollars. Yippee! They gave me a number for the pharmacy to call to correct their mistake. They didn't know about repatha.(sp)
The Benefits of High Cholesterol Levels | Wellness Mama

The cost for Aplenzin oral tablet, extended release (hydrobromide 174 mg/24 hours) is around $1,449 for a supply of 30 tablets, depending on the pharmacy you visit. Prices are for cash paying customers only and are not valid with insurance plans.

Repatha is covered by medicare part d so epic should cover it

Interesting.

I have heard heart diseased is not always about cholesterol but about inflammation too. Although cholesterol plays a part in heart disease, especially atherosclerosis, which I have.

I called the pharmacy again and said all is fine and it will cost 20 dollars and they will deliver tonight. I haven't felt well with my stomach and to make matters much worse I had two pints of delicious ice cream this morning. How stupid cam you get. I am having dandelion tea now.

Bobby ~ I don't understand why you are being charged $50.00 to write a prescription.

Did your prescription expire or have no more refills and he's charging you this in lieu of an office visit?

I didn't think he could charge you this fee legally unless he does a face to face visit, to arbitrarily charge you $50.00 to write a prescription is questionable. But then I do not know your health insurance plan if they allow this. Usually standard of practice and qualify of care require a face to face.

Just some random thoughts for you Bobby. At least you are getting your prescription delivered to you tonight.
