I haven't seen a gyn in 40 years. I am so sorry you have it too. I just came back from my gp and he said that since I have been on laxatives for so long along with constipating medications he doesn't see hope to be laxative free.
He did say that I wasn't diabetic but prediabetic but try not to have any sweets.
He wouldn't give me a blood test and said I should wait for 6 months. He did give me a flu shot. He told me to keep the appointment with the g.i. doctor.
He said he recommends miralax but that never worked.
