my g.i. doctor uses a tablet.I was shocked because at first I told him I couldn't write well. It was so easy. All doctors should use one.

OhKay 07-31-2019 09:08 AM

I'm okay Mari :hug::hug::hug:

I have "stupid" hands now. So IDK how much of what I write is legible. It depends on the day. It took me 3 tries to write a check at the nail salon last week because I couldn't sign my name legibly.

I hate it when they ask for phone numbers and addresses for doctors and pharmacies! And they always give you tiny spaces for that info, and everything else...

You're right, Bizi. I don't think that they actually read or use all this crap anyway. I can't see the office staff entering the information from all this paperwork into the computer, and the days of paper charts are in the past, so isn't it all just pointless?

Bobby, is the tablet at your doctor's office big? I think that's the only way it would be easy for me to use.

mymorgy 07-31-2019 10:01 AM

I am so sorry you also have the problem of writing. What is it from? The buttons were big enough on the tablet so I didn't have a problem.

The two brothers of my friend who passed are having a lunch at a restaurant Friday as a way to be together to celebrate their sister's life.

Each brother has a wife and one has a daughter and grandchildren who will
probably be there.

=-=-=-=-
About a month ago I spent part of an afternoon with her talking a
little.

M

mymorgy 08-02-2019 03:07 AM

oh no. I didn't know she died. I am so glad you were able to spend time with her. That is so nice of them.

I'm so sorry to hear that your friend passed away, Mari (((HUGS)))
I'm glad that you got to see her, and spend time with her, before she moved away and passed on.

Are you are going to the lunch today... ?
It is nice that they are planning on having a celebration of her life :hug::hug:

Early in the day, I called one brother to check about the restaurant.

They booked a room in the restaurant from 3:00-6:00 p.m. Friday/Tomorrow.

I'm going to get there on time and leave whenever I feel like it.

M

bizi 08-02-2019 11:33 PM

Is it on saturday or did you go today?

Mari 08-04-2019 04:59 AM

Hubby and I went.

About forty people came from her work, her musical sorority, her former
concert band, her crafting group, her high school.

Also her nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and nephews.
Also her step-mother and step-sister and family.

People took turns telling stories about her.

There was Italian food from a decent locally famous restaurant but I did not eat.

I separately talked a little with each sister-in-law.

M

mymorgy 08-04-2019 05:48 AM

that sound like such a nice tribute!

Sounds like a nice memorial.
Glad that you went and that hubby went with you. I am sure you are glad that you spoke a bit with each sister in law.
that was nice.

Dmom3005 08-04-2019 06:23 PM

I'm so glad there was a nice group. I'm so glad your hubby
went with you also.

I know it would have been hard to go on your own.

Youtube - I use it all day long -- And it helps me sleep at night via the TV app

My school laptop has been falling apart and school will not issue me
a new one. Hubby bought a new one for me and downloaded the soft-ware,

After he finished, we spent a whole day trying to straighten
out my password/s with gmail and youtube with my various
devices because my youtube playlists
really really matter to me.

He does not listen to music the way I do, but I CLEARLY stated
my needs and he and I had time to make things work.

By the end of the day we satisfactorily set up my youtube on these machines:

1) cell-phone
2) desk-top computer
3) new lap-top computer
4) television

He also got the blue-tooth speaker to connect with the lap-top.
(I might take the blue-tooth to work with the lap top.)

That's a successful day.:)

I did not sleep at all. And have not being able to nap.

Weird.

sorry for the computer issues.

I hope the wi fi gets resolved soon. I am so sorry you weren't able to get any sleep. I hope it didn't get you depressed or make your depression worse. It is a vicious spiral.

Hi, We have wifi back. It was only out during that night I think.

I did sleep a little during the day today.

I need to find something to eat. Earlier Hubby had cut up some watermelon and that was good. Now I want some protein.

Monday is our first day back to work.

The two new idiots in charge sent email that we have to be back but not
info re place (room) or time.

Hubby and will make a guess on what time we have to be in.

M

Dmom3005 08-12-2019 05:49 PM

I'm sure glad your wifi was only down a night. Its not fun with
no internet for a extended time.

I'm so glad mine is back.

Have a good week.

concerned about safety driving to work

The road to work has been under construction for ages (years?) in an effort to widen a two lane road to four lanes.
It is nerve wracking.
=-=-=-=-
I spent much of the night trying to read various map apps to find an alternate :mad::mad::mad::mad:

Tomorrow I will ride in with hubby for a meeting.
(He sucks at driving but he pays attention better than I do.)

UPDATE:

Hubby said we will take an alternative route so I can see how to drive to work by myself on a better road.

:)

I am sure you will be safe!

bizi 08-13-2019 10:18 AM

could you take notes? I have to write every thing down,,,,good luck today.
bizi

BlueMajo 08-13-2019 01:49 PM

Let us know how it went

I do not drive.... sometimes I wish I did, but to be honest, I think God knows what he is doing.... I would be such a nasty driver..... ultra extreme and yeah, dangerous for me.... specially when my depression hits :o

My father drives terribly.... I miss my mom everytime I have to be in a car with my dad.

Mari 08-14-2019 05:12 AM

Hubby got us there safely.

Near the beginning of this alternative route there is a tricky turn that I would have missed if I were on my own.

I need him to do the drive again this morning.

M

Rain shower 08-14-2019 09:04 AM

We have major road construction for both exit ramps to our small town so have detours into the country winding roads. I can't do it, or don't wish to do this unless absolutely have to. I drive infrequently, unless in town. I have very poor sense of direction and make wrong turns etc... I am glad you have hubby to drive. My hubby drives too aggressively for my liking. I worked at same place as he, both in a hospital and in research facilities. Nice to drive together sometimes, when possible.

I have to print map quest and highlight alternative routes. I need the visual. GPS is not helpful all the time.

I hope your return to work is going as smoothly as possible.

Take care

Mari 08-15-2019 07:45 AM

At work we got tons of rain and I was soaked walking between buildings.

We couldn't go home until after we met with the three ladies on hubby's writing team. I had agreed to work with them for part of the afternoon.

I was so very wet -- from my hair to my shoes and socks.

After a little while inside in the air conditioning, I like I was freezing.

Hubby drove home on the crappy road because the situation regarding the lane changes on the road under construction coming home is not as bad as going into work.

I am going to get dressed and go out in the car by myself to try the route again this morning.

I am sorry you had a full day in wet clothes. That is so uncomfortable and cold. I have one outfit in my car for this reason. My job required we walk between buildings rain or shine. Plus I always keep an extra pair of undies in my backpack.

How was the ride in? I hope you felt comfortable going solo and mastered the tricky turn. They put "round abouts" every where with new roads and I am not a fan. Good idea to do a practice run.

Take care

Mari 08-16-2019 11:17 PM

road issues

I have not decided out how to get to work.

Friday I drove on the alternate route to work with Hubby in the passenger
seat.

I had no idea what was going on.

Whether it's due to the depression or the meds, my brain does not work right.

M

bizi 08-19-2019 07:40 AM

Sorry for the road construction...will it be going on for a while?
bizi

Mari 08-19-2019 07:55 AM

Yes.

They've made progress but the road will take a while. (months?)

M

Dmom3005 08-19-2019 04:51 PM

Sounds like Indiana. I am worried about when we go to Indianapolis
next week. I have to figure out if my main road is closed.

The worst of Hurricane Dorian will spare us

We did lots of prepping for Hurricane Dorian: managed to fill up both cars with
gas, get cash out of the bank, and buy batteries and food.

I would like to feel better about our water supply, so tomorrow,
I want to fill up empty jugs and tupperware containers with
tap water in case we will will not be able to access water from the sink.

The category 4 hurricane has 140 mph winds.
Even so, we think that the "track" favors us.

M

mymorgy 08-31-2019 03:09 AM

I have been thinking about you a lot with this storm. That would be so wonderful!

Rain shower 08-31-2019 09:16 AM

Thinking of you Mari as we watch and pray it does not make landfall. We have friends living in Florida on the coast who have evacuated. Please be safe and do fill those jugs and containers with water. I hope you are not on the coast. We thought about living in Florida during retirement but have ruled this out. I sure don't like all the snow we get in Wisconsin, but it is safe. The occasional tornado warning but nothing in our neck of the woods.

Be safe and please keep us posted.

Take care

Cindy
