One of our special olympic team lost her mother to cancer yesterday.

I've known this family for many years. Its been coming but its so sad.
I really feel so sad, and wish there was something other than prayers
I could do. I am hoping at some point since they aren't having a showing
or funeral they will do what many are doing now a celebration of life.

That way we can at least support the family left behind. I think that
is what is important right now. My little town has lots of cancer in
it. Another person was put on the facebook as diagnosed and not having
much time this weekend. Another family I've known every since I've been
here. Almost 37 years. Just so sad.

But we will be here for them too when the time comes.

Derrick finished his bowling last Saturday, it was a sight to be
seen. I really enjoyed watching him bowl. He had three great games.
But he wasn't expecting the 1st place, gold he got. I knew it was a surprise
but was expecting that he had probably gotten just that.

But when they announced second place, everyone in the area, saw exactly how surprised he was. He put his head down on the table kind of. And just kind of shocked sit there. I wasn't sure he was even going to get up when the Am Vets named him. They even realized how much surprised he was. They asked if this was him. And he said yes, and they just tried putting the medal on him then.

But anyway they all got a hug, and that was mainly because of all the surprise. They don't usually see someone just so shocked and not realizing and back to it with getting the medal.

They all were laughing and I was trying to take a picture.

Ladies

He is getting lots better. He scored to his surprise an 112 and 123. Which is both his highs. And I believe at some point he might get to be as high as some of the highest players on his team if he continues. After the problems with
his ball last year. And finding a solution its been much better.

I forgot to tell you guys. Last night we had a missing young lady
in our town. She didn't come home from school. She supposedly
went to another little town in our county. When the father went
to pick her up she wasn't there. Not sure where she was, its honestly
not our business.

But out on facebook, went her picture within say 5 to 10 minutes of looking. And it was on lots of pages. Many looking, they also had the school telling them what they knew. Within a hour she had been found.

When her mom posted she was found, and thanking everyone for the shares, she had posted about the school calling to help with their information on were the bus driver I'm guessing had dropped her off. She said, something that struck me so strongly.

I'm so glad I live in Benton County were everyone is helping right away.

This morning the mom that lost her twin to the car accident, posted a post
about her twin thats alive driving in snow to school. And how she felt.
And how she probably show delete her facebook for a while.

And she really got told no, and I posted a post about why its not needed because we in benton county believe in each other.

Well Sunday Derrick did some of his volunteer time with a neighboring Special olympic team. We don't have any winter sports in his club. But this one does.

They have what is called Basketball skills team. WHich is something I was pretty sure he would enjoy volunteering with if he could. Which he really did.
Wasn't sure how many they had now. But knew there main person was out for a while know doing cancer treatment. And some of the other volunteers have stepped up to make sure the kids still get to do this.

They had I believe close to 15 or so. He had lots of fun.
Close to the end, the person who runs it, came over and wanted to know if he would be interested in doing the 5 on 5 with the kids they have trouble getting enough kids so they can definitely have a team with the things like injury, illness and other things. So starting this next week he is going to the practice before to learn about that. So if they need an extra player he can help them.

He has always wanted to play basketball so he can know probably play with them.
