Oh sorry I realise I wasn’t clear..
When I said “no med or therapy will cure this disease” I was meaning me. I haven’t found therapists helpful. Or most meds either. Meds did help for a while until I became allergic to so many of them (something else caused my pre existing allergies to worsen) |

Oh. Ok. Thanks for clearing that up.
I also forgot to mention that I also don't like talking about that "thing" very much either. I mean, it's hard because it is a reality, but if it can be avoided, I do it and encourage others to do it too. Most i say is to be safe and smart, but stop obsessing about it for that only brings you down. Id rather spend my time watching Conan O Brien comedies, for example. Oh, but i CAN find humor in SOME of the "thing" related jokes...but I also need jokes not at all related, because joke or not, it's still a reminder...but if it's a good joke, it can be kinda helpful too. Hope this makes sense. I know I seem to be going back and forth on this. I guess I'm just trying to apologize in advance to you if or when I mention, the "thing" in other places, but assuring you that I do try to avoid it in most cases. Hugs |

Don't worry, I'm pretty sure most of us avoid it.
I'm not much help on what to do when your allergic to medicines. But I can tell you if talking here will help some of us are willing |

Is your bad experience with therapy and therapists the reason your husband opposes your return to therapy? He may - or may not - have observations of your reactions to treatments, observations that may help you decide how to proceed.

I think maybe Nevsky has hit the nail on the head. I'd talk to hubby about whether this might be at least part of the reason. I can understand this because just recently my son Derrick went through something similar with an behavior therapist. It turned out he switched people, but it wasn't till he switched that we figured out the person doing it was working against his needs.
He has developmental disabilities and epilepsy. But is high functioning. So at times it's hard to realise that things aren't going the way they need to for him |
