Having therapy can be difficult with bringing up painful memories and then suddenly therapy time is over and you're on your own and the support is gone. I remember feeling that way a very long time ago and it wasn't a good feeling.
p.s. referring to an earlier message, I am an introvert as well. A highly sensitive person who is an introvert. People don't understand us very well sometimes.
take care there hey...
i will definitely take it and send you a huge hug. i asked the building for a bar and they told me it against the rules. i haven't been lucky with physical therapists. i never had back aches and one therapist made me do an exercise a few times. i had to stop. because they gave me back pains that lasted i had back pain aches. she didn't even say she was sorry.. another two gave me exercises for my hands. what a waste. i have given up on them.
my neighbor rick who is in his 80's and is in great shape and i think he was a body builder gave me an exercise that really helps and it is simple. it is lifting each leg bent to your chest 40 times each.
i think being an introvert is very difficult. i think we can't stand superficial relationships. we can have very deep relationships. i think we do also have the strong need to have private time. being bipolar exaggerates everything. now i am angry because the medication they gave me doesn't work well but made fat and gave diabetes. now i regret taking it because at least my body would have been more healthy.
fondly,
bobby

i do have one and now i guess will use it. right now i can't get rid of my rage.
this morning i got apartment insurance. it was an ordeal. i used their chat a couple of times but got vague answers. my friend joyce pushed me to get insurance and to get the answers. i waited on the phone for ten minutes and finally got a lovely lady who didn't have answers. i was on the phone with her for about 15 minutes and most that time she put me on hold to find out the answers. i was already ballistic and i told her i was bipolar and my anxiety was already through the roof. i swore a lot. i couldn't control it but said i was sorry a few times for my language. tonite is the start of Yom Kippur and i felt so guilty. it is the holiest holiday for Jews and the bipolar has definitely won.

amazon wrote and said they cancelled the bench. i was so ambivalent about getting it i am so sure i have enough money to last me well into my eighties. a couple of months ago my therapist and i went over it and said i didn't have to worry and i left out some money.. have bipolar 2, gad, and ptsd from being in an explosion and badly burnt but leaving no scars physically and paranoia. i just can't deal with stress. all those falls and then having trouble walking has been really stressful. before i just walked with a cane.
i think i will get some more towels and make sure my hands are dry when i get out of the tub. the dry hands will help me have a better grip. the strips in the tub will help.
i am also stressed out because of the roaches. the building exterminator said he couldn't spray because of the cats. i use roach motels because his version wasn't as good. the past two nights i left a cup half filled with water and found between 25 or 30 drowned roaches. i don't know where they are coming from. this week marci put a mixture of boric acid around the apartment. hope that works. we do use sprays.
pudge joined me this morning which was great. haven't lost weight but i am hoping. i also ordered a lot of lentil soup besides the chicken noodle. didn't have a stomach ache last night.
half the time i wish i were dead. being alone and old besides these mental
and physical issues are hard to deal with.

I'm so sorry you hit your head. I hope it starts to feel better soon.

I think even if you start taking showers most of the time that would be
good. Maybe you could start getting a bath when Marci is there to
make sure you are safely out of the tub, just listening in the other room
would make it safer for you.

I am a fall risk so I totally understand the reasons for not taking a bath.

Bobby

I'm not a doctor and its not something I would usually do. But for some reason I just got this really strong urge to make the suggestion that you look up Topamax. I am not sure if its something that you could take for your anxiety or bi-polar issues. So that is why I'm suggesting you look it up.

But I went to my new nurse practioneer yesterday. And when she asked me if I was on topamax for my migraines it was a yes. But its used for many things.
And I know that. One of its nice side things is it sometimes gives the person using it a nice side of weight loss, it did this for me. Along with a balanced
diet I lost like 30 lbs. Now it isn't like that for all. And I'm telling you to check its usage to see if its something that might help your anxiety because I'm not sure if its used for that. But I know its used for migraines, and seizures and some other things. I can't remember everything.

But its worth you looking up for your new nurse practioneer.

great about your weight loss. i was on topamax some years ago but it didn't help my anxiety or binging. i didn't have weight loss. if i remember it might even help alcoholics.
i just bought a lot of cheap wash clothes so when i try to get out of the bath and hold on to the sink i will make sure my hands are dry. i bought some glycerin soap that doesn't lather. i am hoping that might not make things so slippery. i also decided not to bathe as often. i read that falls in the bathroom for elderly happen very often. i bought a bath mat that had few reviews but they were all positive and that it didn't slide.
marci comes only monday and tuesday so i need more baths than 2 and she can't come any other days. i have asked for more help but i can't get it.
now if only i had the will power to use my stationary bike again, i know my legs would get stronger and i would be less likely to fall. i was very athletic for much of my life.
i just have to force myself to help myself and think about all the good things that have happened in my life and try to block the fears.

Bobby

Can you ask your landlord if its okay to buy the rail things to put in your tub.
So when you get in and out you don't fall as much. I'd then ask Robert if
he could help you put them in.

Also when it comes to the bath bench, next month I think you said you
go to your doctor. I'm not positive but you might ask him/ her if they
could write a script for your insurance to cover one for you if your worried
about cost. That way your person who helps you get services like Marci
and the therapies when you do pt and things. Can get you a bench
I believe. I'm pretty sure that is who got my mom her bench.

Also sometimes churches and senior centers have these type things that
they can give someone to borrow or keep.

My suggestion was to take the bathes when she is there.
And try to take a shower maybe when she can't come.
That way you at least still get one.
