My dear sweet friend Doug who passed this past September oldest brother moved into Doug's old apartment today! He rang my doorbell tonight and I lent him one of my phones to use. When I told him I was leaving to go back home he said he'd make sure I got home safely and watched me until I got into my apartment. He gave me his phone number. It is creepy to me for some reason. Something about his brother gets to me but what I'm not sure.

Hi Donna,
Doug's oldest brother does not look like him but I think just knowing he's his brother gravatates me to him. Also, with the way I've been feeling lately as far as missing a man I feel threatened in that way. I really do not think I would let anything become of Doug's brother though. befuddled2 |

Wow - that is odd that is odd that his brother would move into his apt.
I suppose I would feel creepy about it too, that will pass once you get to know him. It's always nice to have a new nice neighbor though. Is this the first time you really two really met? Nikko |

That is strange, but don't you want to move anyway? I seem to remember you talking about bad neighbors in the past and recall you saying you were thinking about moving. Does this change that? Do you now want to stay there because you've got a new friend there nearby? I would totally understand if you did feel better, that can be comforting to have someone who you know nearby BF. Hope things work out well, hang in there.

Thank you Sue, Pam, and Nikko,
I have met Doug's brother a couple of times before when Doug was near the end and once after his death. Sue, how are you feeling now? I'm glad you are back online. befuddled2 |

Nice to see you back on line, sincerley hope yor well. As for your new neighbour, look at it as a gift from above, [an allie, someone who understands your loss, and by relation an understanding companion] David

I remember someone told you to ask Doug what the sign that he was good would be. I'm thinking you didn't ask, or forgot to tell us. But I'm also thinking that Doug was so worried about you being alone, that he sent his brother to be there for you when your down. And that he decided to make this a easier transition for you. By making it a brother that he could send, and not the ex roommate. I'm personally so glad you have this new neighbor. Enjoy this, and remember he knew Doug in lots of the same ways you did. ANd he is missing him too. Hopefully you can be there for each other. Donna |
