Cool Getting away for a day/night

Our plans are a go.

Took my mother to the Dr's yesterday, all was good there.
She had sobered up. I think a lot of the drinking is due to her on and off depression, although she is on Cymbalta and Xanax.

Dirk and I are leaving later this morning for our overnight trip to Tombstone, AZ. Staying 6 miles from there at a Best Western. Will only be an hour and a half away from home. Weather is dull, had a lot of rain overnight, but supposed to clear up today. I hope so.

Going to do some Xmas shopping, have a quiet, nice dinner, etc.
Be back Sunday around noon.

My mom is fine, I told her I had made arrangement to board the dogs, (which I have never done) she said she wanted the dogs here to feel more safe.

Not leaving any alcohol in the house, even though she said she won't drink. At least I will have peace of mind for a weekend. I know she won't last not drinking, once there is alcohol back in the house. At least she won't be able to go get it. I think she knows better anyway, with the pets and her falling.
I have to lay out her pills for tonight and Sun. morning.

I need this getaway real bad.

Hugs, Nikko

Nikko

Have a great break..................

Dont take this the wrong way, but never remove or hide drink from an alcoholic. If an alcoholic states they will not drink today.... then trust the statement until it fails.

Failure is part of..... or a contibutitng factor to this condition,.... Leaving drink in the house is , or not an issue. If your Mum chooses not to drink or drink it has sadly nothing to do with you.

You have either no contol, or input to her condition. Only your Mum can make a change , or difference to her life.

its not your fault or your problem.

Have a great time Nikko

And you are right to just make sure you didn't get her any alcohol for
the house.

If you didn't buy it then its not there.

Had a great time! Did a lot of Xmas shopping. We had a nice dinner.

Lots of laughs.

Tombstone is such a fun place, with lots of history, shops, etc.

It's like a step back in time.

We did a lot, everything was fantastic.

Hugs, Nikko
