Smile First Snow!

I took up the blinds... and found that...

It Snowed Tonight!

It's beautiful. Not a lot of snow, but everything under a pristine white blanket ... wanted to share.

Snow is magical, isn't it?

We, too, had our first snow of the year this week. It may've been only 1/4-1/2 inch, but it was enough to coat the cars, roofs, leaves, and streets for a little bit. (Wind blew most of it away in the night.) First snow on the ground that I've seen in over six years. ('Course, it almost never snows down there in Montgomery...so the last time I saw it was in North Georgia, when I was still at college.)

It's so pretty when it's whipping through the air, all sparkly in the wind currents (under a light, at night.)

I can't say I miss the snow. Yet it is beautiful.

I see it now on the mountain peaks, 6000 ft above, the valley I am in is at 2000 ft.

that's about how much we have... so far. and it doesn't snow every year, but it has so far in the recent (10 ugh) years i've been here. one year it got REAL cold (-10 C -- cold cold for here)
and that year we did get quite a bit of snow. totally messes up traffic - city not really prepared for that much snow. took me like 4 hours to get home from (then) work - and i was LUCKY.

Still, i do love the stuff!
