Default Abilify

A friend who is bipolar and was stable for over six months on a combination of lamictal, abilify, and cymbalta, recently regressed. Her shrink lowered her lamictal and increased her abilify and the symptoms, principally paranoia, seem only to have worsened. Does anyone have experience with these drugs and this symptom?

Dear HHS
First guess would be the Cymbalta is not necessary -- or could be lowered.
And I suppose that the Abilify is contributing to the paranoia.
But I don't have experience with these meds.

I hope the shrink's adjustments work.

When I was on Abilify I only slept for 4 hours a night which if this is happening to your friend, the lack of sleep would not help.

Lightbulb cymbalta and abilify

Cymbalta and abilify are metabolized in the liver by the same isome cyp2d6. Therefore each drug is synergistic to the other. Which means both drugs stay in the blood stream longer and at higher levels. Limictal is a very good medication and should not be decreased by MD. What should be decreased is abilify or cymbalta!
