Default Memory issues and medication

Has anyone had bad memory problems after getting on medication to treat their Bipolar illness? A medication like Topamax can be particularly problematic.

If so, has it negatively influenced your work situation? What kinds of things happened? Did you tell your employer? Did your Dr. offer any alternatives? Did you try other medications or things to help with "forgetfulness?"

Thank you.

I do remember when first diagnosed and taking meds, I asked my p-doc to give me a memory test, she said I did fine. I thought though my memory wasn't like it used to be.

Then after being assaulted in July of 2006, I think that was the year.
Anyway, with the bruised brain, headaches, and post concussion syndrome and post traumatic stress. I was really questioning myself.

I still do. I am forgetful. I do believe the meds do effect my memory somewhat, or else its age. It's worse when I am stressed.

I have a terrible memory...it is getting worse as I get older.
Having been medicated for so long now...I am not sure if I can relate this to the meds or not....
topamax is one of those meds that has memory problems/brain fog with it...at least that is what my girl friend who took it said.
She was a basket case on it....but that is jsut her experience.
