Dear Mrs. Bear,
As I have indicated in previous posts, I suspect that you wear a Wonder Woman tiara under your hat. You are incredible! I just saw your post today, having spent most of yesterday unconscious in bed trying to sweat out my THIRD, (count'em, THIRD) cold since September. I had to cancel my shrink appointment. If there were a way of my getting there without actually doing anything physical, it was still a possibility, but short of levitation, a no-go. I'm glad that your shrink reconsidered giving Wes electro-shock. As far as I know, it is still only indicated for Major Depressive Disorder and is still the treatment of last resort. My sister had a treatment consisting of 12 weeks of ECT, one procedure per week. It significantly improved her depression, but her depression before the treatment was truly abysmal so it couldn't have gotten worse. She is still depressed, but at least now enjoys some things like gardening. ECT can impair short-term memory. What people do not usually understand is that this impairment includes memory both before and after the treatment. Today, five years after her treatment, my sister believes that her current short term memory is damaged which is one of the reasons that she won't consider another series. Hope you are enjoying a long sleep as I write this. Cordially, |
Mrs. Bear,
This is so good to hear. I hope you got caught up with your sleep. befuddled2 |
:) Wes is still stable. And Con is starting to do better as well. Gonna do an endoscopy on him in a week.
I am very tired. Sleeping WAY too much, but it will pass. Thank you so much for the support. I was very overwhelmed and the information and love that was provided by you all helped me think logically again and put my head to rights. :grouphug: Dave, big hugs right back at 'cha man. I needed them. HHS: Thank you for the experiance and knowledge on ECT. If it ever comes to that, I feel empowered now. Thank you. Hugs to my bizi, Mary and Befuddled. :grouphug: |
