Default Weekend Check In.......................

Hi all - How is everyone? I've been busy with my online courses, among other things.

Not much is new. Taking my mom to Mystery Mansion on Sat. night for dinner and the interactive show for her 75th birthday, should be fun.

Need to get my hair cut today. I just wish I had more get up and go.

Weather is finally getting into the 70's today and hopefully from now on.

Check in........

Nikko

Mad Sick of being bonkers

Still only 1 shower a week. 2 days ago an awful week-long manic storm let go. It was a bad one. The only functional thing I could do was grocery shop, and only because my friend literally dragged me around the store and made sure I put things on my list (that she made!) in my cart.

Why can't I have that happy mania that I read about?? I just get agitated and distressed and twitchy and unable to stop moving. I fight and kvetch and cry. I stare at the page and read the same sentences over and over. They don't make sense. And I forget them immediately, anyway.

I am so sick of this stupid disease. I figure, I only have to put up with it until my kids graduate from high school (4 years 4 months). That's my bargain with myself... hang on, hang on...not forever, just for a while.

Aw molly, I am so sorry you've been suffering so badly. Manic episodes can be bad. I have been a little happy manic this week, mostly because I started writing again and began my first screenplay with a second in mind already written to the end in novel form, just needing conformed to script format. So I have been kinda high on my writing. It's been six months since I wrote, well let's see it was August, so yep, six months.

I hate to ask, you've probably stated your feelings on meds before, but do you take anything for BP? I can tell you that life totally evened out for me when I got on the right combination of meds.

Wow Niko, it sounds like you're giving your Mom the royal treatment for her upcoming birthday! Have fun!

I am gonna be turtle shopping this weekend, tomorrow most likely. Jackie wants one and we're going to get a baby one and a tank and the whole shebang this weekend. He's pretty excited and wants one over any other pet we've offered (except dogs or cats, that is out of the question) so we're hoping it will help relieve his extreme boredom and make him happier.

Hi Molly,
'Sorry that you are suffering.
Those mixed episodes nearly did me in.
I held on, knowing that the meds would get right somehow.

Molly

Hoping you start to do better. Know that they seem like empty words.

But they aren't its so hard to know what to say. OTher than it takes
taking things one day at a time. And continuing to for as long as necessary.

We are here and will continue to be.

Default Talk about a good deal!

Hehehe, I got the cutest little yellow belly turtle in the pet shop! We spent like 2 hours cleaning up the tank and supplied it came with from the thrift store we got it from, and after that was done I went to get the turtle and a new filter to go in the old Pump that was included in the whole slew of stuff we got with the tank for EIGHT bucks...Yep, $8 for gravel and some glass rocks, two plants, like three nice shells and the pump.

I about flipped when I saw it on the shelf. And the lady who helped us with it, she was about 8 months pregnant and had had a turtle too so we talked for a long while as Jackie shopped for toys. He saw a Blue for $.50 and a cute small stuffed bear for the same, so I got both along with the tank and had eleven bucks change from my twenty. The turtle was twenty bucks, but then you have to have that animal or else why bother with the tank set up-LOL!~

So far so good, he hasn't hurt him yet, if it's a he, can't tell. Plus it's a baby, it's like the size of a Sobe' lid or a salad dressing bottle lid or a silver dollar. He was pretty traumatized from the ride home and all, but he's swimming around happily now enjoying his tank. I can't wait to get an alge eater in a couple of weeks, and also some feeder minnors for the turtle to snack on at random.

On the downside, Jackie acted up at walmart today, he wouldn't walk with me and refused to get in the car, sat there and said, "No, I don't wanna..." and "I can't" so like I had to do the other day when we were at an appt. I put my chair in the car and got in and started it, by the time I finished with the turn of the key he had the door open and was getting in. I don't know what's wrong with him these days, but it's really getting annoying.

So wish me luck keeping Jackie under control with this sweet little turtle, I am so worried he's going to try to grab it or something. His father is the one who cleaned the tank and it's contents along with the pump, it was pretty dirty, but a razor blade, vinager and some soap and water and it was clean in about an hour. Then another hour to get the contents and pump cleaned. We both hope this lasts, if he gives us a lot of trouble Mom said she'd gladly take the little guy and set his home up at her place, but we hope it doesn't come to that.

Pam

This maybe what Jackie needs a turtle to help take care of. Learn how
to be with and gentle with.

I'm not making much sense sorry.

You made perfect sense Donna, that is what his father and I think too. Don't be so hard on yourself sweetie, you've been going through a lot and I think of you often, hoping you're doing well. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I know bizi! I flipped when I saw the price, I was prepared to pay twice that if needed, I still can't get over how nice it all looks together, it's awesome. The turtle is acting happy enough and Jackie has so far been really good with him. We're not letting him hold him yet, mostly because we want the little guy to warm up to being around people so much, he's poked his head up and looked at us, but I get the feeling it's still all too much for him at this point.

We do expect to let Jackie hold him and play with him in the back yard at some point, but between getting this new addition to the family and my starting two writing projects I couldn't be happier. I am really very pleased with this new free script writing software I downloaded called Celtx. I started on my first script and hope that I can convert my first novel, "Walk of Fire" about the young amputee, to a screenplay soon. I am testing the water with a new idea, my first comedy, and I am enjoying seeing this software doing its thing, it formats your writing perfectly and is so easy to use.

Thanks for your support everyone, I don't always have time like this to post but when I do I like to share what's up in life at the time. It's so great to have good friends to share with and you're all wonderful!

Here are some pictures of Yellow belly slider turtles:
