It's about 90 degrees here today.... at least no storms for the next 24hrs... I hope!?!?!

We've had about 10 tornadoes with in 75 miles of me since last Friday...

Hi,
When I got in my car today, the steering wheel was too hot to touch.
I will need to put something over it like a towel so that I can drive. :eek:
-- the store bought steering wheel covers don't work.


Temps: just below 90 everyday.
Rain: most days
Stores: full of hurricane supplies.

I pray for a quiet summer.
One more time: May the coastal areas be clear of hurricanes this year. Keep the storms out to see where the shipping interests can go around them.

UGH.
Bands of the storm are coming across us already. Public schools are canceled.
We have wind, rain, thunder, and flood advisories. It will be worse in the afternoon.
But we have a big meeting at work at 9:00 am.


Three people called me so far to see if we have to go in -- like the people in change speak to me. I told them the same info that is on the web sites and the email. :confused:

I hope you don't go. I just spoke with a guy from texas and told him we almost had a tornado on Friday. He said there was a tornado in Houston.

My dad is not familiar with hurricanes -- he was not home for them.

My mom has respect for them.


Worst case scenario -- after they get here, the gov shuts down the airport and such because of a storm.

My parents are coming in less than 2 weeks -- Friday, August 29,
They have not told me their arriving flight time yet or even what airline they are flying.
I figure if my father wants to be such a control freak, he can get his own darned shuttle to his hotel -- esp since I have not been given hotel info either.

You have nerves of steel even if you don't see it. I'd fake strep throat or something to get out of these visits! But at least it will be out of the way for another year...

Jeff and I have planned a trip to pensecola for our 12th wedding anniversary.
this weekend.
We tried to cancel our reservations and they said that since we did not cancel them 72 hours in advance that we would be charged about $200 so we decided to just go ahead and go...
we leave in the morning...it is about a 7 hour drive.
Just a couple of days...be back on sunday...
Watching another season 3 episode of Lost...how exciting is that!!

The edge of Hurricane Gustav is raining on us.
When I look outside it looks like it could rain for a few days.

According to the newspaper web site, we are supposed to get
flood warnings and tornado watches here through Monday. After Monday it will clear up here and move on.
