Arrow We Change clocks one hour ahead March 9 on Saturday night/Sunday morning

Hello,

Daylight Saving Time starts this coming weekend.
We move our clocks ahead and lose an hour of sleep.

It will feel like summer time and I am sooo happy!

For the U.S. and its territories, Daylight Saving Time is NOT observed in Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands, and Arizona . The Navajo Nation participates in the Daylight Saving Time policy, even in Arizona, due to its large size and location in three states.

The Antarctic Peninsula (Palmer Station) uses Chile's time zone, but the rest of the continent does not. Rothera, a British base, does not implement daylight saving, but instead remains GMT -3. U.S. bases, including both McMurdo and Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station, use New Zealand's time zone and daylight saving dates.

Default Why Lose an Hour?

Just go to bed an hour earlier, no sense losing sleep if you don't have too!

You know the one place this doesn't work is in the state of Indiana.

I am not effected by this. Half the state will do something, and
I still have no clue if I will or not. THe stupid governor messed
with out time a few years ago. And sure made a mess of
things for me.

Do I move my clock or not.

Hmmm.

Hi,
You move clocks. Every state moves their clocks except Arizona and Hawaii. The only thing tricky about Indiana is that some counties are on Eastern Time and some are on Central Time. But all counties move the clocks -- that's how I see it.

Do you drive across time zones and back during your ordinary day?
That's weird.

As of April 2, 2006, the entire state of Indiana joined 47 other states in observing Daylight Saving Time. But it wasn't quite as simple and straightforward as all that—telling time in Indiana remains something of a bewildering experience: eighteen counties now observed Central Daylight Time and the remaining 74 counties of Indiana observe Eastern Daylight Time.

Yep, I live in the 74 counties. But I live on one of the border counties.

So with my work, I travel over that line at times, so I always have to
know which county Im in. Its a real pain.

Donna,
I remember visiting a town where some people worked in one time zone and then traveled to work a few miles away to another time zone. I think that they coped by keeping their home clocks the same as their work clocks.
It was weird -- like living in some kind of sci-fi strange universe.

Happy Spring!

I'm in AZ, I like the fact we don't change our clocks.

Back when I lived in the Northeast, it used to really bother me in the fall when the clocks changed, too dark, too long and cold. I had SAD pretty bad.

ugh. For some reason spring is harder for me. I feel disoriented today and like I have been run over by a truck.

I am not enjoying the fun of the changing of the clocks.

We still have the two times in Indiana. And I still have
to worry about which time I'm in. Heehee

Its just the best of both worlds.
