Default couple things

umm... dumb question but... the last comment you made... have you considered pregnancy as an explanation?

What you described at lunch sounded like reactive hypoglycemia - but usually that happens if you eat and then expend a bunch of energy.

Fwiw, I took trileptal for almost a year and then out of the blue started having paresthesias and instability/faintness from it, and had to change med. We don't know why. No other meds were changed. So it could be a a med you no longer tolerate or, if pregnant, your hormones may not agree with it.

The deal with Seroquel and Zyprexa (the ones that make you gain weight) is that they sensitize cells to insulin, so despite the normal amount of insulin, put simply, your body cells "ask" for more sugar than they "should"... hence, appetite + weight gain. btw I got this info from my MD who is a diabetologist.

In any event your sx are not to be taken lightly - please see your doc ASAP.

good luck

Lightbulb another issue...

There is another issue with Depakote and female patients.

That is--Depakote may cause hormone imbalances and specifically PCOS..
PolyCystic Ovary Syndrome is on the rise anyway, but here is a website
that discusses this issue in regards to Depakote:

http://www.psycheducation.org/hormon...polycystic.htm

PCOS also causes insulin resistance and sometimes in extreme cases, eventual diabetes. So reactive hypoglycemia, may be a sign of PCOS in females.
Depakote also causes depletion of l-carnitine and folic acid. However, if
treatment is relatively new, these will not show up until more time has passed.

Full feeling in the breasts, and/or leading to nipple discharge, can be due to
drugs. Depakote is listed as a cause of this:
http://www.womentowomen.com/breasthe...tdischarge.asp

Please notice on the above website, that both Celexa and Depakote appear on the same list. So while full feelings in the breasts do occur in early pregnancy, they also can occur with some drug treatments. This feeling may occur before actual nipple discharge begins.

I feel so much better now. I had a migraine earlier and after some Tylenol and the Depakote its gone. Food helped too. Plus a shower. Ahh!

My breasts still really ache, but its not that bad by itself.

I posted earlier on a board I've been on since 1999 when we were all pregnant and due in October. We post about what's been going on in our lives and of course a lot of it is what's going on with husbands overseas and our other childen- not so baby-centered anymore. Well, after I told this one person there that she was so helpful in telling me that I wasn't the same as she remembered me, lately and I said thanks for that perspective, she then turns around and tells me I post too much about my situations other than my kids - like being sick and dating (whereas I used to post about circumcision and cloth diapers, and breastfeeding) and that's not the focus of our board! I guess that just goes to show you go for support where you can get it - and honestly, between them and the psych place, you all here have been the most help; my sister and Christopher are of course too and my primary doc; and don't expect it just because the person's been around a while.

Well, I made the mistake of equating my symptoms lately with pregnant symptoms to Christopher. He was not pleased. I was going to go to a free test place this morning but they are JUST now open. It isn't likely, but I just feel so exhausted and achey and nauseated.

Spent the day with my sister. That was really nice.

So I did go there. OMG. I don't want to start a debate, but I never really saw myself as pro-choice until I went to this pregnancy counseling center! The test was negative, too. So cross that off. Christopher is having a better day- I sent him a nice short note via email earlier. My hemoglobin is way too high, my dr. says too. I wonder if its because the tailpipe fell off my car last week? She said it could be carbon monoxide poisoning and I wonder if the two are connected.

Thumbs up

sure sounds like it could be related...go get your tail pipe fixed...meinekee is usually pretty inexpensive.
Wouldn't that be wonderful if that fixed your symptoms!

hi. Just got this, Nikko. Thanks!

I'm actually on hold with the dr's office because this chest pain and sleeping a lot is bothering me. Mostly, the chest pain. Its like pressure and last night I tried laying on my back so it wasn't so bad. It reminds me of when my breasts were really huge and heavy (before my reduction and when I was breastfeeding). Also I feel like something is in my throat and my tongue gets swollen.
