Home pregnancy tests measure a certain hormone. When a woman is pregnant that hormone surges and increases, so the test turns positive.

However, a non-pregnant woman still has that hormone in her body but at much lower levels.... but if you use a home pregnancy test and then leave it long enough it can eventually turn positive hours and hours later due to the way the test measures that hormone. That's doesn't mean you are pregnant - it means you left the test there long enough for the test to soak up all the tiny bit of that hormone that you normally have in your body.

I hope that made sense...

Of course anytime you are unsure about the home test results you should go have a blood test to be sure.

Good Luck and take care,
Liz

My doctor took blood today- five vials including betaHcG- and urine. She's going to rule out a bunch of stuff. I also had two chest xrays- so I'm pretty sure I'm not pregnant, or they would've thrown a fit and not let me have xrays.

So, now I just wait for those results to come in.

Glad all the tests are over, she sounds very good. Hope you get the results soon and all is well.

How are you feeling today?

Well I'm feeling two ways. At the moment, I think I know why the leg aches- a virus. Belly is all grumpy and achey, but not bad. My legs also hurt the same way in the evening and in the night too, last night. I took Advil and that went away.

So .... my answer is: refreshed cuz I just brushed my teeth, but achey a bit. However.... I had a wonderful evening and just got home from Christopher's. Had weird dreams (again) last night too- and they are not due to the Trazadone because I haven't taken that lately. Very detailed and elaborate.

I have to figure out what I'm going to wear tomorrow to my first day of work. You'd think it wouldn't be too hard and in theory it is not- I have the right kind of clothes. But whether or not they'll FIT me is the question.
