Default New Doctors for us

Hi. A few of us are going to go to new doctors. I'm going to a new Psychiatrist in about a week in a half. Me BP? is going to a new doctor also. Are there any other people going to a new doctor?

I saw a post on Psych Central(I think that's the name of it) that it's important to see a doctor who you feal comfortable with. Did anyone else read that article?

Me BP?,how is your new doctor? I hope that you got a good one. "IF"you do not click with the Doctor, and don't think that it's going to help you,go to another one quickly. Don't allow another negative experience with another one who acts like"Tha Boss who's in charge, and hell bent on it". I know that she didn't start out that way.

I care about you,and I don't want to think about you being tormented in the patient's chair,by a demanding, out of order, Doctor. Brokenfriend

Yep, just got me an appt. with a new neuro. I specifically asked for a woman this time; hopefully she'll be less intimidating than my old 72 yo MS specialist doc.

I've been traveling 140 mi. north to see him (RT = 280). The new one will be even further: 180 one way -- also she's not an MS specialist. BUT, I'll get to see my DD when I go (driving south now). I'm in the process of signing up for Tysabri infusions, so I'll get to visit every 4 weeks. Next year at this time she should have a baby for Gramma to play with (in the planning stages). Woohoo!

So happy I will never have to see my old doc's face again. It was tolerable until his PA quit.

Thanks for asking! Hope your new docs work out for you, Bfriend and BJ.

Default Shrinkless

Dear twinkletoes,

I haven't had a Shrink for about three months. I told the last one that I didn't see any point in continuing our consultations since it was therapeutically useless. (Actually, it was irritating.) There are medications for my condition that I would like to try but he was prohibited from prescribing them as a county employee.

I am doing O.K., so I don't urgently need a Shrink, but not so OK that I can contemplate another round of Shrink-shopping. So the status will be quo for the foreseeable future.

Twinkletoes You have a fabulous personality. I hope that the infusions work for you. I'm sorry that you have to travel so far. I've had some Doctor's that I didn't want to see either. Believe me I know.

highhatsize One of my therapist was a irritant also. He was also strange in my opinion. Then he said that he wanted to see me two times a week,or not at all. I told him that I was terminating our sessions, but not in those words. That was fine with me,because he was annoying me,and I wanted to get away from him anyway. Brokenfriend

Well, aren't you both just so very nice?

I've only been to a head doc one time. She didn't help my head, but the visit did leave a lasting impression, as I accidentally kicked her practically invisible glass tabletop with my shin. Lol!

It was in my pre-dxd MS stage and I was getting upset about things that, in retrospect, now seem blown way out of proportion.

Brokenfriend and highhatsize, I wish you both the very best in finding the perfect doc.

My friend is a little cayman found in the Rio Negro, a tributary of the Amazon. Actually, I didn't find it, but everyone in the canoe got a chance for a photo op.

The cool thing about the Rio Negro is that it is so acidic that bugs don't hang out there. It actually looks like strong brown tea. I didn't get any malaria shots in advance and there was no need to wear insect repellant.

I could go on and on, but it's late, and I feel you've been educated enough for tonight. After all, it IS summer vacation!

Hi there highhatsize, I don't think we've met before, so I'd like to say hello and let you know that I'm pleased to meet you. I hope I get to know you a little better around the forums.

Hello there Twinkletoes. It's always nice to meet up with you in these forums doing what you do best, and that's caring for other peple.

Hello to you too BF. I often wonder how you're going, and I do read most of your posts. I believe you're a wonderful, caring peron and I'd like to thank you for the support that you give to others here on the board. You really do have a very compassionate nature, and I'm so pleased to have "met" you

Twinkletoes I didn't think that there was a tropical region on Earth that didn't have bunches of insects, especially at night near rivers, and bright lights. Very interesting. I wonder what's making that river acidic.

Koala 77 Thank you very much. I have noticed that you are very compassionate also. Thank you. Brokenfriend

Dear Friend,

Keep taking care of yourself as best you can as you await your visit to the new psychiatrist.

I am hoping that new worlds of feeling good will open up to you.
