Default First Day At Job~clock change~high fever

Today was my training day at my new job.

First of all, I got there an hour and fifteen minutes early- yes- because I forgot to set my clock back last night! So, there I was wandering around looking at stuff in the store when about 45 minutes later, someone who works there said "Why don't you go get something to drink?" I said "To drink?" as if there were time for that as he'd already said that the manager we were waiting for has kids and maybe she was out with them and late... So then I went out into the mall hallway, turned on my cell phone and noticed it was an hour EARLIER than I'd thought. D'oh. However, the training day was the same. Same job, different stock, different people. That said, the people there in general seem really nice and the place in general.

Second of all, this was all after a horrible feverish night. Christpoher called in the evening to see if I wanted to come over to watch the other movie we'd rented. My belly kinda hurt, and I'd JUST laid down under my electric blanket, but I said sure. We started the movie and watched over half of it, but my belly ache got worse, and I got really cold... I finally went into the bedroom on his daughter's bed and curled into a ball because it was confortable. Christopher had thought I was looking at him funny earlier but I was just in pain. So by the time I called him into the bedroom and told him I felt I might throw up, he told me to go get into his bed and go to sleep. He turned off the movie. The rest of the evening is a blur except that my fever must've been at least 103 because I then went from shivering like crazy to that warm toasty feeling by the fire without the fire. It took great effort to move my body so I just didn't. I laid there in a cocoon of sorts and listened to Christopher opening and closing drawers and walking around- me half in a feverish daze- and praying. My sleep was solid and completely amnesiac while the fever was on. By 3 a.m. I'd soaked through the neck of my tshirt and sweatshirt and was really thirsty. So I put a towel between them and me and went back to sleep. Christopher kept telling me to go back to sleep- as in about just before 7 I sat up for a while and he said "Go back to sleep." So I did. Till about 11 and then got a shower, ate something light and about 12:15 drove off to my job. Well this was all based on the WRONG time on the clocks.

Red face

Wow I wonder if you ate something that didnot agreee with you...or do you think it was a flu bug virus...did your kids get sick or could you have caught something from them?
I am glad that it did not hang around long.
Christopher sounds like such a nice guy.
hope you sleep well tonight!

I don't think it felt like food poisoning or the other horrible stomach thing I've gotten in recent times. It just felt like a virus- especially with the all-over body aches, and high fever. Kids haven't had a fever, so who knows.

Christopher IS a nice guy. My ex. would just say I was faking or whatever... I dunno. I think what I needed was, in part, to be helped to relax and not to worry, and to know what to do- even if it was just "Go to sleep" over and over nicely, you know? Because in my mind, I was saying to myself "I can't sleep. I feel horrible. I don't want to do the ER again. What about my first day of the job tomorrow...." etc.

I give you a lot of credit. Feeling not well, and making it through the day, is success. Give yourself a pat on the back, you deserve it.
