Tongue Man was I ever ill and in pain...

I don't think I mentioned it here in the forum, but I had talked to my pain management dr. and we tried to change my main pain medicine to MS Contin, boy was that a huge mistake! Their office was closed Thursday and today, my appt was Tuesday, and when I called to tell them Wednesday about how it wasn't even TOUCHING the pain I was having, (On a scale of 1-10 I was having 8-9's) they told me to keep taking it and wait for up to 48 hrs. I was so upset because I could not function.

You know how we clean every week? I couldn't do it on the scheduled day because I had to lay down the entire time Jackie was at school Wednesday and yesterday, I finally broke down and called, telling them I had had TWO migraines, sick to my stomach and constipated....They called in something similar to my old med and I was so thankful, I was so sick! I was not looking forward to a weekend of suffering and using up the entire RX I have of Imitrex just to counteract this masty drug's SE's.

So I feel much better today, went potty twice and feel so much relief, I am so happy that things are better today, I just can't tell you how awful it was waking up today (I think this was the final SE's of the Morphine Sulfate aka MS Contin) and vomitting up some bile while holding my head from a terrible migraine as Jackie slapped the back of my neck and then laid on top of my back as I was leaning over into the toilet. Great kid I've got here, real empathetic...*sigh*

I was afraid the day would be ruined but it worked out that we went to walmart with mom as usual and had a great time. I am so sick of migraines, I had four this week! Just awful...

Pam I am glad you are getting a bit of relief. I know those migraines are no fun, especially on top of all the other pain.

Red face

oh pammy,
that sounds miserable....
MS contin can have nasty side effects...we all can have different reactions to meds...what works for one may not work for another...so it is always good to try a new med not before the weekend.
Glad that you were able to find another med to help...why the switch?

Default Walmart

Dear Pam,
Thank goodness that you called and thank goodness that they responded.
I like hearing about stories like this where a dr's office does the right thing.

Holiday weekends are tricky for reaching drs' offices, so good thing that you got this done before.

And it's ok that you missed the cleaning and all -- as long as you made it to Walmart!

I'm glad that you wrote in because you had mentioned a change in pain pills and I was wondering about you.

I definitely feel like my old self now, but it was pure misery a couple days ago. I knew that it wasn't for me after the first migraine but what works for one doesn't work for another, you're right bizi.

LOL @ the making it to Walmart comment Mari...LOL! Yup and today I have to go to the discount grocers place in town to get some turkey and pork rinds, Jack is low carbing it again. I don't feel up to low carbing so I am not trying to do it with him.

Glad you both posted, you always make me feel better.

About the same, still won't listen and keep that negativity to himself. I just hate my living situation right now. We just signed a lease but those can be broken. As they demonstrated by raising our rent 3 months before the end of our previous lease. Jackie destroyed one of my CPAP hoses yesterday and I left him alone because I thought he was just ripping up a magazine, it sounded just like it. *sigh* I am so sick of this horrific scene, it's not fair, he chokes me repeatedly during the day, throwing things at me, throws water on me if I don't get out of bed fast enough. It's a madhouse and yet I get told, "Why do you let him do ______?" and "How come you let yourself get caught in those situations?" I have really had enough.

So yesterday when he pushed me down into my chair when I was getting out of my swimsuit I nearly fell, he just has no concern for hurting us, me especially. I have to go because he's getting into trouble. *Sigh*

Dear Pam,
I am worried about you -- not just for your physical safety which is important but also for your having to be on guard and than having this stuff happen to you all day.
I hope today goes ok.

Thank you both for caring, I know it's not going to be easy getting through the rest of this summer if we do at all. I know I would like to call it quits now, but something keeps me keeping on throughout the kid's aggression. It's that hope that he'll chill out and stop soon. But it never happens. Anyway, we got the cleanup done thank heavens so it's nice here again except for the bedroom where I have to go through and get rid of a lot of clothing. *sigh* once that is done and I get copies of home movies made, well we'll see where we stand.
