Default Weekend Check In Time Friday August 15

Hello, Friends,

How are you?
Anything to share?

My car wasn't driving right. It kept pulling to the right. I had to fight to keep it on the road. It was a hassle and several trips to the mechanic.
Now everything drives straight.

I saw the tdoc for the last time for a few months. She tried to summarize our visits this summer and tell me how I have improved and how well I can handle things.

I think that I don't like to admit to progress and get uncomfortable. It's an old habit perhaps. Also, I don't FEEL like there is any progress. I just have to take her word for it.

Hi Mari,

I would think you would know more of how you feel than your tdoc. Perhaps if you can't see it then I would continue with it.

What was making your car pull to one side? Was it a front end alignment?

I have been very busy today and tomorrow I hope to go see the guy I dated last month. We are going to be just friends for the time being and see what develops. His dad passed a week ago today.

Mari

I wonder sometimes if its enough that someone else sees the progress.

I know that I see progress but does anyone else.

So I really understand.

For the first time in many weeks I actually left my tdoc today feeling a bit better.... it's only baby steps but at least I moving forward.

I don't have any plans this weekend... Just watching the Olympics tonight and I'll have to see what Saturday and Sunday bring.

Hope everyone is having a good evening....

Dear Befuddled,
I'm sorry about your guy's dad. It is hard to watch a family grieve.
My car has been doing this for nearly a year. I have to fight to keep it on the road. We fixed alignment, steering, . .
Finallly one guy dxd the prob as a tire problem -- the belts inside the tire/s were probably off-center.
We had to buy all new tires because I was tired of not feeling safe on the road.

Dear Donna,
Perhaps you are right.
I accept other things she says.
So if she says there was progress, then so be it. I don't really have to look for it.
I did loose 15 lbs in 10 weeks. She said that was clear and hard to argue with in terms of my making changes with my life.

Dear Abbie,
That's great news about leaving the tdoc's office feeling better.
Enjoy the feeling if you can.
I'm watching the Olympics more than I thought.
It's hard to miss it anyway. I don't have cable and nothing else is on.

Mari

I am positive you don't give your self the credit you deserve. So please
do just that.

I am sure that you are growing and getting lots of things.

I know that you have given me a purpose in life.

And also you guys here have helped me work through my problems with my husband, and even the things my job has going wrong.

So I am so happy its going better.

Thanks for being you.

Tomorrow: I'm working 11:30a - close (usually around 7:30pm) then most likely nothing after that.

Sunday: Working 6:30am-2:30pm...Sunday is supposed to be movie day for Mike and I but he hasn't answered me about it. I want this weekly thing to work, even just as friends, but it takes two to make things work.

I'm working Monday too, and have a staff meeting Tuesday and then nothing (yet i duno what the schedule is for next week so i might have to work) but i have a pdoc appointment on Friday.

Default my boring diet

Bizi,

I eat cheese about once a week. Otherwise my food is plant based.

Hubby makes black bean soup. . .with canned beans and onions and garlic. Sometimes he throws in some greens.

I bought some little pink lentils from an Indian store. They cook up quickly.

Here's an average day:
Quote:
--Most of the time I eat canned lentil soup or split pea soup two or three times a day.
--Then I have some cooked veggies like broccoil or green beans. Sometimes I add store bought spaghetti sauce for flavor
--And a serving or two of fruit.

I am useless in the kitchen. If hubby cuts up watermelon, I eat that. If he doesn't then I eat some grapes or an orange.
--I eat nuts too somedays.
'Not a big fan of tofu but if we have it in the house, I make a cold sandwhich with millet bread and sliced tofu with mustard (bread from the health food store).

According to the book, Eat to Live, I am supposed to be eating more raw veggies -- like two big bowels of Romaine lettuce each day. I'm still working on the lettuce part.

If am out, I buy some veggie California rolls at the grocery store for a treat.

Sometimes at night, I eat 2 cups of rice with soy sauce and olive oil. Hubby usually has leftover rice in the fridge.

When I'm in the mood for something besides lentils or split peas, I have toast (millet bread) with a little bit of peanut butter on it. Hubby has been buying the freshly ground peanut butter at the grocery store.

Hubby has been buying avocados too. They are delicious cut up and drizzled with lemon.

I really don't cook or fix anything. I have to scavenge or coordinate with hubby to find something to eat.

It's hard to eat out. Chinese and Indian are ok about non-meat but I have to find stuff that is low calorie too. One time at a steak house I ordered a dry baked potato and a salad.

I think my next step is to eat more raw greens like Romaine and be more diligent about taking my vitamins.

And I log all my points in my Weight Watchers tracker on-line. And go to the WW meetings once a week.

The most amazing thing is that the emotional eating has gone away. I hope that that continues now that work has picked up again.

Thumbs up

What about spinach? both raw and cooked?
they are so good for us, full of nutrients.
I wilt mine in the microwave for a quick bite to eat.
You are doing a great job with weight watchers good for you!
Have you thought about sweet potatoes?
how about zuchinni? yellow squash? they are delicious steamed or stir fried in a little oil oil and garlic, cayenne pepper to give it some zip.
fast on top of the stove stuff.
I made coleslaw the other day, the cabbage family veggies are also so good for us.
keep up the good work!
