My mom is depressed. Her back problems are enhancing those her depression too. I think if we get her depression under control, then perhaps she can deal with her back problems better.

True, although it could be the other way around also.

Constant Back Pain can cause depression, because you are unable to do the things you want to. I know with my back pain that happens.
