Unhappy My skin hurts: feeling weird can anyone relate?

I am having strange sensations.
all day my back muscles have been killing me (I worked in the yard on sundy afternoon) but this evening I have identified another symptom.
My skin hurts when I lightly touch it on my arms, back, thighs...very strange, I have been lying on a heating pad for the past 2 hours and have no relief, I took 800mg of advil earilier.
I could hardly make it thru the day.
It gives me a small window to what other people suffer who are in chronic pain....
There are a lot of folks on these boards with chronic pain.
The hurting skin could point to something specific and this is why I posted about it.
Going back to bed

Lightbulb virus....

Many viruses start this way.

Also neuropathies start this way.
I would NOT lie on a heating pad for long periods. This can overstimulate pain sensation in the long run. 20 minutes tops is what works best.

Often people are low in magnesium. Doing physical things that result in pain like this points in this direction.
I'd recommend a good magnesium supplement if you are not already taking one.

I prefer the new Aleve liquigels. This formula of naproxyn is fast acting and long lasting. One capsule of this for me is stronger than RX versions. I use these when my issues flare, and this week they are certainly flaring with the weather changes. I also use Salonpas patches (over the counter) for more targeted areas like the knee, fingers etc. Salonpas put on the trapezius on each side may help. Use only the methyl salicylate ones, they are the best.
http://salonpas.us/
Many people here have tried them and loved them. I use them all the time and buy in bulk at Costco!

Red face

I did take my temperature and it was normal, I think that you are right about the heating pad.
I took advil and tylenol later and extra klonipin to ensure I slept.
hubby said I snored so loudly, I never do this...poor guy not sleeping.
I was afraid that I was getting the flu, I feel much better today,
skin is much less sensitive this morning and back is getting back to normal.
thanks for you replies.
I am feeling much better...it was scarey...thought I was developing lupis or some other disease....catastrafising
beth who does not tolerate pain or illness.

dear waves,
thank you again for your psot.
I should have been more explicit about what my working in the yard included. all I did was lean over for an hour spraying round up onto cracks in the drive way and on the side walk and street.
so I did not do much relaly. my poor back is what suffered from bending over for that long. thank you again for the reminder about drinking enough fluids just in general, I don't do this which I know that I should.
how is your job prospect? did you get all of the paper work submited, cover letter etc.?
tell me about your progress.
beth

Totally second what Mrs. D has said.
The Aleeve Liquid gels are really excellent pain relievers.
Same with the Salon Pas patches.
I've had improvement over the years with my health by experimenting with various supplements. Some I especially like include Magnesium, Fish Oil and the B50 tablet.
I have heard recently that becoming dehydrated might increase pain in the joints and back. Therefore, drinking plenty of liquids (esp. water) is worth a try.
If arthritis is a potential issue, you might want to read up on and/or check with your doc about these supplements:
http://arthritis.webmd.com/tc/glucos...topic-overview
Also....make sure you are wearing comfortable and supporting shoes! There's a brand called "Clarke" that I understand is fairly priced and fits this description. Also, the Earth Shoes. I know there are others...
Hope you feeling better soon.

Question one thought...

I sure hope you didn't inhale any Round-up leaning over it that way! Herbicides are not nice.
