Default Weekend Check-in: Saturday, February 28, 09

Hi,
Happy Weekend.
February is over and we move into March.
In exactly three weeks, the first day of Spring will be here.
How is everyone doing??

My sleep is much out of whack.
I woke up exhausted and sleepy and had to rush to work.
After I drove part way there I realized that I was an hour early!

M.

WHEW. finally. although i have to admit i enjoyed seeing the snow this year, we had much more than usual. i said seeing, note. not tramping around in it after it had degraded into icy slimy grunge.

awwwwwww. that sux. i mean, on the one hand, at least you weren't late. but that's a whole hour of sleep extra that you could have probably used... i hope things improve soon.

this is a beautiful image you posted...

do you happen to know what kind of plant it is? (if not, i will try to find out.)

i am doing... ok. just ok. just barely ok. ok, i confess, i'm freakin' exhausted. mentally & emotionally drained. wasn't even going to check in but botanical curiosity got me. go figure.

OH! i am missing the beginning of Poirot! off i go to drain my brain more in front of television. 2 hours Poirot film (that's if i can gather the wits to follow Agatha Christie plot - yeah, that bad today), and then, if it's not a repeat like last week, Monk.

coffee seems to be failing me.

HI mari and waves,
I am sorry for your sleep issues, I have not beens leeping all that well either, but not like you guys, especially you mari.
I don't know how you are doing it
We went to a concert last night:

The blue note seven was amazing.
the players played great together ...off each other.
Jeff said it was the best jazz concert that he has seen before.
Each player took long complex solos and you really got a feel for them individually as well as the group.
they only played for an hour and a half which flew by and we wanted more!
they are touring for a total of 6 months so if you get the chance to see them, do so, that is if you like jazz of course!

Bizi has it right.

My mother remembers when she was growing up that these were the first flowers of spring.
We had some yellow ones at one time that kind of grew wild under some trees.
She got excited when she first saw them one year.

Hello,
9 hours of sleep.
I'm mostly rested but not awake yet. Hubby is back from the gym and boiling some potatoes for me.

Waves,
I tried to follow a Miss. Marple story on PBS the other night and got bored because I had no idea what is going on. Poirot is probably more fun to watch -- can't remember a movie -- just read the books when I was a kid.
I wish that you could take your zoloft too -- or, better, something that will give you the effect that you want from zoloft.

Dear Bizi,
When I used to like Jazz. I had no one to go out with me. Even my musician friend was not interested. The last time she and I went out, we saw Branford Marsalis and she said that she was not impressed.

That's great that you and J can enjoy music together.
Jazz is wonderful.

Beth,
That sounds great! i'm glad you guys got to enjoy them together. Are they on a world tour or US tour? It will soon be time for the Spring Jazz Festival in this area... it consists of concerts almost every night of the week for several weeks, sprinkled in all different places. i have a friend who also likes jazz and has transportation, so i might get to go to one if something looks good.

aaahhh, yes, how appropriate! Thanks for demystifying me, Beth!

--------------

well my tv stint is over. Poirot was good and the Monk i had not seen. i got tired tho. i am debating whether changing into "outoor gear" and going for a beer" or laying down for a bit. oddly, i think the former would be healthier. i wish i had agreed to my parents' offer to replace my laptop for xmas. this one is old and the battery doesn't hold up more than 10 mins... i like to write when i go out... my notebook (paper kind) is used up. i have lots more............. in the garage.... very inaccessible

pdoc says things seem ok relative to the transition with the Zoloft (off completely now for 1 week). sleep quality and quantity improving is a good sign, even though mood is off. i am eating compulsively and have gained some pounds already. he says that seems related and should smooth out, just need a little time. at first i was eating but so agitated and sleepless that i guess i was burning it up, too. now not so much burning, but still eating! i better let up soon!

me no wanna be fat!

i have been taking on too much online i think, esp. with some new ppl who have difficulty with boundaries. so i am the enforcer and that is hard right now... getting "rained on" and having to draw lines. it is perhaps not a good time for this sort of interaction. as it is, i have a couple friends i have been neglecting just recently in correspondence. it might be better if i caught up with them instead.

heck. i am getting called to prep the bread. i.e. dinner's about done. no beer. nor rest. no writing for therapy either.

lator gators

ROFL, i do like Poirot better than Miss Marple, although i will occasionally watch a Miss M., i too have been known to "abandon the scene of the tv." Poirot is more dynamic. also cute/funny. that's neat that you read them when you were a kid.

gosh Mari, you read my brain! indeed zoloft would just make me agitated or irritable... i am not really depressed... don't need zoloft... just want out of this ... this ... whatever it is. anyway thanks!

we saw Branford Marsalis
Coooooooooooool! I saw him on TV or heard a CD or something ... many years back now... (almost bought a CD of his stuff but $$$ issues). anyway, loved what little i heard. some ppl don't "get it" .

~ waves ~ off to do something braindead for a while lol.

If you see spring send it my way. Its brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
here in my area.

I was married on the first day of spring in the year of 1981.

Because its the one thing that can't decide if its going to be
on the 21st or the 22nd.

yeah mari!!!!!
9 hours I am so happy to read that.!
It was chilly here today so I made a big pot of gumbo and spontaneously invited some friends over for dinner.
the gumbo took all day to make and I put in an extra step that I should not have.
I cooked it covered in a big 5 gallon pot, the lid was vented but it did not "cook down" like it should have so Instead of thick and rich gumbo it was thin and light....oh well I won't do that again.
HI waves
Maybe you could ask your parenst for an early christmas present or birthday....new lap top?????
I started on facebook...very entertaining.

Red face

I have been goinig to my girl friends church several weeks now, I ususally end up crying quite a bit.
It is good to cry, knowing that I really do have feelings...I jsut don't know how to tap into them appropriately.
How was your weekend mari?
