Angry So upset....Insurance bites!

I am really upset about my stupid Part D insurance, it's not going to cover my stinkin' abilify! I have to drop off it totally and go onto something else, and I called my dr to get it called in and they called in serequel. I just hate that I have to cold turkey off a med I have been stable on for years just because this insurance won't cover it. I HATE this! So as you might guess I have been having some anxiety issues since Friday when I learned this was going down. I am so ticked...

So how are you guys doing? I am just livid. I hope I don't gain much weight on this new drug and that it works...I really am beside myself over this.

Angry I am sorry....

I am so surprised that they won't cover this medication.
that really is awful.
You had to switch insurances?
What about geodon? ask them if they would cover that.
It is weight neutral meaning that people did not gain weight on it.
It is what I take and have actually been able to lose weight when I have tried that is....

Dear Pam,
That stinks.
Med changes can be anxiety producing.
Here's hoping that you find a new med that works as well or better.

Thanks bizi and Mari for caring, I am worried about this change, I went with seroquel because I don't think it's going to work as well and if I do a couple of meds they MIGHT go back and cover abilify for me, that is assuming it will still work for me after being slammed off it onto something else. I am just so frustrated, got another denail letter over my crestor too, so I am really not a happy camper on this new insurance.

Thumbs down

Dear Pam,

Crestor too?
Now it sounds like they are making a point of being difficult.

Maybe you should get one of your docs to make up some new meds to be on and see how many denial letter those jerks can send you.

I know, it's ridiculous...I am so angry. It's not very cool to take away not one but two meds I take. I hope that I can get used to seroquel or try geodone if it doesn't do the trick. I have about a week left of abilify and then I plan on starting on the seroquel.

Just stinks.

I am so depressed, I just feel awful knowing that I can't do anything in time to STAY on abilify. It's just not fair. I feel so helpless.

Pam

It might not help immediately but most manufacturers have a program
to help with medications.

See if abilify does.
