Default I'm tired and overwhelmed. Complaining.

Hi,
I am very tired.
I asked to be excused from a meeting at work on Thursday because I can't stand to look at most of the people I work for and certainly don't want to talk to or hear from ANY of them.

I have a ton of work to do so maybe I can catch up on one project while I am home -- in between sleeping and more sleeping.

The apt is a mess.
Maybe I should forget about work and spend any energy I have on clearing off one space somewhere -- like the piles of clothes on the ironing board -- or the piles of books and papers on the floor near the front door.
As I write that, I realize that those jobs are too big. Maybe I could focus on one section of the computer desk.

Did I mention that my immediate boss has some things wrong with her (may god help her) and is a jerk? I want an office high in a tree like a tree house or on an island so that no one can bother me.

And maybe just maybe since work REQUIRES me to do lots of stuff on the computer, they could supply me with one that works. That's an idea! My computer is dead. It is deader than than the 2+ inch cockroach a student killed for me that was in a filing cabinet. We should have saved the dead thing and sent it off to a contest and won something for being so huge.

I give lots of love and attention to the IT office and nothing comes back so far.

I'm annoyed.
But that seems to be my usual state when I am tired.

I'll let you know someday when I am not annoyed.

I hear you. Sometimes just concentrating on one area of the house at a time gives me a better feeling. I get overwhelmed with cleaning my small apartment also. I think it's a good idea to take a break today from work.

Heart Dear Mari

I get frustrated and overwhelmed very easily when i'm tired.

I don't have the inner resources to cope with much i think is why.

If you really need to deal with areas of mess, if those are bothering you.... it sounds like you are dealing with piles. my thought is approach it with the top-of-pile only approach. at any given time, only deal with a single item. whatever item is on top of the pile. after that you can walk away. of course, nothing prevents you, if you wish, from repeating the process, with whatever the "new" item is on top of the pile. but as a goal i mean... perhaps you could not think in terms of piles, and only think in terms of "top-item-of-a-pile" at any given time, as a complete task. and if you are so tired, walking away after one item is good. you might come back days later or hours later and do the next one. but ifyou can manage this strategy... in a few weeks, your piles will be noticeably smaller and the sense of overwhelm will be smaller with them, the moment you realize you have made a difference.

Sleeping rebuilds us.

I hope you can get some restful sleep, in sufficient quantity to feel better, soon. even if it's not regular in a time-of-day sense, i hope you can get some regularly in a frequency sense.

I feel for you having trouble with sleep. that is the pits. and with no juicy cherries around them either!!!

hang in there.

Default Thank you.

Hi,

My sleep changed a few months ago.
I can no longer count on sleeping straight through on weekends for example to "catch up." I know that catching up like that is not recommended but it has been part of my survival -- to catch up on one or two days during the week and then again on the weekends.

This week I have been getting about 5 hours a day/ night (go to bed around 5:00 am most nights).
If I wake up at 10:00 I am in trouble the rest of the day.

On the weekends I can nap. These naps are not restful or restorative.

I like the idea of picking up one thing from a pile.
The problem is that I need a place to put it. I don't have places that things can go -- except for clothes which could get hung up. That's an amazing concept -- to think of clothes going in a closet.

Nothing I wear is in the closet because if I wear it once I think of it as dirty and do not want to hang it up with clean clothes. Maybe I need two closets.
1. one for clean clothes
2. one for clothes I have worn once or twice and do not need to be sent through laundry just to look worn out soon.

Maybe instead of dealing with the top of the top of the pile, I can deal with the side of the pile. On rare occassion, when I have handled this cleaning business, I have done about an 8 step process. The first steps are to kind of organize everything on the floor and keep it on the floor. At least it is in recognizeable piles by type on the floor. This could take quite a big of time over weeks but it would be a start.

Default hubby called and I hung up on him

Hi,
Hubby was insensitive on the phone and I hung up on him.
He wanted me to handle some paperwork stuff having to do with calling about our insurance. He was laughing and making fun of how I don't follow through on stuff like this.

I told him to call me back and talk to me right.
He has not called back.

Mari

I totally relate. I've been trying to figure out how to get things done.

But just add more to the pile. Then today my husband decided that
he was going to throw a fit and if I didn't listen he would get even
more mad.

Well gosh, he had been yelling at this place for hours. And I was
on the phone with my supervisor. It was my call in time. And
I'm tired of him thinking he should be able to interrupt my phone calls.

It was my business phone. And he could see that.

To top it off, last night our littlest dog got attacked by a big dog.
We were trying to see if we could keep. Because it needed a home.

Its now gone. But littlest dog, even though very sore will make it.

Dear Donna,
Sorry about the dog drama. That's good that the little guy is going to be ok.

Hubby can be good most of the time and then do something not very bright and then throw me off.
He has probably learned alot over the years about living with me. I just wish that he had learned more by now.
