Dear BlueMajo,
Holidays from school make me happy too.
Do you and your family celebrate Easter with anything special?
Sorry that you missed the tennis final on account of the headache. Feel better soon.

Dear Donna,
That is great about a low-ish carb diet.
My sister is doing a version of one -- only eats her starchy carbs for breakfast with protein. The rest of the day -- plenty of protein and veggies and some fruit (carbs). She said that it is helping her loose weight.
I wish you luck.

Dear Befuddled,
I hope that you had a good weekend and enjoyed your work outside. :)

=-=-=-=
I felt depressed today.
Don't know why. Sometimes it happens. I know that I can go to bed in a few minutes and get ready for another day tomorrow.
Hubby did our taxes on turbo tax earlier today. I tried to be supportive and sit by him for a few minutes while he was messing with the software -- but even that was difficult for me. Thank goodness that he was ok with that job -- I would have to pay an accountant to do it for me / us.

My big accomplishments for the day:
laundry, washed a few dishes, bought some groceries, and TOOK A SHOWER! :trampoline:

I have to deal with my boss tomorrow about something that is important to my team and that she is ignoring for whatever reason. I wish that she were a pleasant person to deal with.

I keep hoping for all of us that we will see good times.
. . . good times coming our way . . .

Hi folks

Donna, Happy Belated Birthday!

Abbie, that is great news ... hope it continues for you.

Mari i hope you have a better day.

Blue Majo, hi and...

by the description of that headache - light and sound sensitivity - you know that sounds like a migraine, which "includes" the nasty, typically throbbing headache part (often but not necessarily only on one side).

If you get them with any sort of frequency i encourage you to talk to a doctor about them. Because there are meds that can stop them in their tracks or, if you suffer very often, different meds can work to prevent them.

Also, it might be useful to know migraines are often triggered by specific things and if you learn what your triggers are, you can avoid them and avoid lots of headaches... when you get a headache, note down in a book what you ate & drank in the preceding 12-24 hours. See if time after time there are any elements in common. Everyone is not subject to same triggers - very individual, but

some common offenders are
alcohol esp certain wines
coffee (although DURING a migraine can ironically help)
CHEESES uhhhh... darn i wish i had the list in front of me.

alcohol does it to me. not a hangover headache. and it didn't used to happen. but now there's certain wines where - two glasses and after a few hours i get the headache and spend the next 24 hours ibattling a migraine, including the tell-tale sensitivity.

Suddenly it occurs to me maybe i am telling you stuff you already know.

sorry. your post attracted my attention because i had an unexpected migraine last night. it was secondary to nerve pain originating at cervical (neck) level, inflammation caused by bad posture too long in my case. caused pain which radiated all the way down my arm as well, plus ended up with full and proper migraine on top.

luckily anti-inflammatories helped. and i slept finally. now awake but here i sit with a brimmed hat still, however. and going to get off computer before it starts all over again.

my computer is broken now, tg it still runs, but to use it (ie see screen AND type/mouse simultaneously?) ergonomics goes out the window.

well. take care everyone.

Mari: Aw, sorry to read you were feeling depressed.... I hate when that happen to me... when you just feel depressed, without a cause and you just simply try to continue with your normal life but depression dont allow you... Hate that. Hope you are better today dear Mari !!! Can music cheer you up ? I like to close my door and attach my ipod to my ears... after like 3 hours, depression is gone... or, at least, is less....

Well, for Easter we like to eat chocoaltes and give us candies :D Plus going to church, lighting up candles, etc... Do you celebrate it ?

Waves: Thank you so much for all that stuff !!! Very helpful ! :) Guess what... I had had a "3 cheeses sandwich" !!!!! I think that was what gave me that migraine !!!! It was horrendous... and today, I feel exhausted... Gosh... I will definetely take note of what I eat and drink so I can avoid or at least try to avoid a pain like the one I had yesterday.

Thank you waves ! :winky:

Have a good monday everyone !
