Default I feel so hopeless

My next door neighbor continues to get my goat. Today she called the cops saying I hit her car when I came home today. She is such a good liar and coniver that at 1st I believe her until I got in my car to back away from her car. I am always careful to not hit her car for the very reason she has it out for me. When the officer asked me to back my car away from hers which was touching her car I could see when in my car that I was much closer to hers then I was when I parked my car. I really got ticked then cause I knew she was lying her tail off to try to get me into trouble. The office told her that there was no damage to her car and then she looked at her car and said that her license plate had a sratch on it and that it was a special license plate that costs a lot of money. He made me give her my insurance information. I suppose now she'll try to make a claim on my insurance but I'm going to contest it. The officer said it was not enough damage to warrent making a report but that by law I had to give her my insurance information. Later today when I came home she harrassed me and told me I needed to learn how to drive. I called the cops on her for harrassing me but it did no good. She follows me around the parking lot but the officer just said to call them when she did it again.

I feel so hopeless when it come to seeing justice get served anymore. She lied in court when she curse and abused me. She can lie her tail off and she's so good at it she gets away with it.

Dear Barbara,
I don't understand why the cop made you give her your info without giving you the protection of a police report.

Something is wrong with her.

Can you park your car somewhere else for now?

I wish you could move.

What part of your car was supposed to have hit her car ?
your bumper ? would be about the only part that might scratch her lic plate...

I might take a tape measure and do some measuring when she isn't around...

measure bumper and her lic where the scratch is.... write measurements down in case your ins does call you about the incident....especially if they don't match up at all.

Hi Mari,

there is no where else to park my car as parking is very limited here by me. I have a plan though. I just have to have patience and not jump the gun too soon. I have the option of moving into another apartment on the grounds here or moving away. I could move away but that is such a hassle and I could have even worse neighbors than now. I don't know what to do. I should check on apartments again Friday.

Jo*mar, that sounds about right.

Barbara, would it do any good to take photos of her car and your car with a time stamp?

With someone as nutty as her and who apparently has spent much of her life perfecting these skills your best bet is to move.

Barbara,
Whoops!

We were posting at the same time.
I understand about concerns that a new place could be worse -- I often have those kinds of issues.

If you move within the same complex you will already know what to expect.
Will you still be able to plant your flowers -- be on the ground floor?

Jo,

That is a good idea except that my next door neighbor is always looking and has the neighbor who lied for her to watch me also. I will call my insurance again today around mid afternoon to see if my next door neigbhor called them to make a claim. She hadn't yesterday so far. It's already Friday. The cops came to her apartment around 2 a.m. this morning and I saw someone walk past my door. I figured it was the cop so about 30 minutes later I opened my front door to see if there was anything for the cops to be looking at in my yard. As soon as I opened my front door my next door neighbor opened her door and peeked out at my door. She followed me in her car Thursday morning.

Mari, that is a good idea to move away from here the more I think about it. I go to court in a few weeks with my in-laws so after that I'm going to concentrate on moving. I know that change can be scary but I'll never know until I make the change just how it will be for me. It could be good it could not. I've got to try though i think.

Just saw the post Barbara,
With a License plate, as we dealt with this in PA. It is a Penn Dot issue and all she can do is request a replacement plate if it is unreadable damage. For one thing, If the regstration is inset, what part of the car did she think of yours could do the damage without it showing up?

I would have grabbe
d acamera in front of the police, took a picture of the car, the plate with a measuring tape, if one is around. Then take her picture, for ID of the owner of the car.
The insurance carrier will only cover the car not the plate if I recall.

But keep the log of days times the fighting and yelling through the walls, late night knocks, the ongoing issues. Let management move HER!

Do you think she could have backed her car up to touch yours? Or did you pull forward and it was that close.
I would put on a face to her that no matter what she does, it is not affecting you. She is provoking a reaction because of envy.
Get some sleep and call the owner to file a complaint....
I have to try and fall back to sleep, Katie has school work in the morning.

thank you Di. My license plate was damaged many years ago when a dresser that fell off a truck hit my car. But you have a point. I should have been keeping a lof of all the yelling through the walls and the fights next door. I wonder if I should call the Police station and tell them I want to take measurements and pictures in front of them. there is no way that Deborah is going to let me do it withou an officer here.
