Default cancelled pdoc again

Hi,
For the second time in 2 weeks, I cancelled pdoc and made another appointment. I told his office to call in my meds since I am almost out of them.

I don't feel good physically or emotionally.

I'm going to try to sleep.
I really need to start sleeping at night like most people do -- the day sleeping is hard.

PS
What should I do about neighbors with a barking dog? I might go nuts soon.

Hi Mari,

I hope you feel better. I've been down and out today and I don't feel like doing or going anywhere myself. I'm like you and stay up half the night. Lately though I am going to bed earlier due to mental exhaustion from stress or depression. I need to call my pscy nurse practitioner for an appt.

I hope we both feel better soon. Did you have to work today?

Hi Mari,

That is good that you can work from home when you are clear headed. Thank your for the comforting words. I should be better tomorrow or the next day. I usually don't stay this down for too long at one time.

I understand so well about sleeping better at night Mari, I just bought my replacement CPAP mask and have yet to use it. Had bad female issues night before last and was still worried last night. Wanted to be able to JUMP up in a heartbeat if I had to you know? Anyway, I know how hard it is with regard to sleeping well. In a day or two I should be up to using the mask and sleeping with the cpap again.

Good luck Mari, you have had such trouble with sleeping well, I wish you many restful hours of sleep tonight.

Dear Pam,

I need to follow up with the sleep doc I saw last December to see about scheduling a sleep test. Maybe I should try to call his office tomorrow (if I am awake in the day time!).

Thanks for being encouraging about sleep -- sometimes getting help takes much energy.

I’ve been watching people I know who are both independent and who have a good sense of self esteem (at least, in my estimation they do). And I’ve noticed something, with even the most fiercely independent person I know. If they need help doing something, they don’t hesitate to ask.

It’s really opened my eyes to how much I struggle to do things by myself that could go so much faster and easier if I could only ask for help.

I understand totally about canceling your pdoc appointment Mari. My pdoc scares me more than my tdoc. I have to be really clear and alert when I go in there. I'm terrified of her.

Good Luck with making that appointment Mari. That's one more step towards investigating/resolving your sleep issues.

Meanwhile, I hope you are able to get some good sleep in. Hopefully at night sometime, but, at least in the day if not.

My former pdoc when i went through periods of total night-owlness, especially when depressed, used to tell me about sleep hygiene and all that and about not napping in the day. BUT he would always add that if push came to shove, I needed to get some sleep no matter what. And if right then i wasn't for whatever reason sleeping at night, then sleeping in the day would just have to do. In otherwords, getting sleep was priority #1 to him, fixing when i got it was a secondary issue. Important, yes, but secondary.

So i hope you get some good, solid, restful, peaceful SLEEP, whenever you can get it for now.

Especially as you have been feeling poorly and stressed... we need it more at such times!

Have you ever noticed that most people are flattered when you ask them for help?
They like feeling like feeling helpful and important -- lots of people -- not everyone.

But yes, I agree with your statement that strong people can ask for help. It is another one of those things that we learn to do -- ask for help.
