hey I really like the idea of staying in a hotel for a couple of days near by, you could visit during the day for a bit but could then escape back to your room....
I know this is hard on you....

Klonopin is good

Hi,
Thank you.

This morning I took Klonopin while the cable and phone guys were working in the place -- and I fell asleep on the couch.
Good nap.

Hubby is less agitated then he has been. We are sleeping here in the new place tonight.

Lots of work to do tomorrow / Friday.
Friend is coming over to help me start making sense of my boxes -- maybe take some clothes out of boxes and put stuff in closet.

Hubby and I have too much stuff.
Tonight I started throwing away stuff.
Later I wrote him a list of boxes of mine to take out in the morning.
I will toss out more Friday night when friend comes.

It's a small place. I need to be comfortable.
He likes being surrounded by junk.
I'm going to toss stuff (my stuff -- can't touch his stuff) until I feel comfortable.

sad

i am sad you feel essentially cornered into throwing out your stuff, Mari. :(

that you have to choose between stuff you were planning on keeping, and feeling comfortable / having enough space.

is the new place smaller than your previous place?

same square footage but lay out is different

Dear Waves,
The square footage is the same but the "new place" has smaller closets and bathrooms and slightly bigger bedrooms.

I will not miss the recent set of books. They have been in storage since three or four years ago.

I want less stuff.
Hubby wants more stuff.
But I am holding him to rules I made up a few months ago about exactly how much room he gets. He likes being surrounded by stuff in his areas -- where as stuff is not comforting to me.
And I need my areas to feel spacious, organized, beautiful, and good for working as well as resting.

Ok. Thank you for explaining. i miss all my stuff which has been in storage in the garage for 5 years. so i see the time factor as kinda subjective.

But I understand that you are not forced to get rid of stuff you will miss or want. That is good. :o

I'm so glad you explained too. I was starting to get a depression
about your stuff.

I was worried about you. So your explanation helped me so much.

Thanks

I'm trying to learn to take good care of my things.

Hi Donna and Waves,
I have too much stuff and I don't take good care of it -- I get too overwhelmed some times so I let junk get out of control.

So I am trying to be careful about accumulating stuff I do not want. And with regards to old stuff, I am re-evaluating some of it

I am focusing on only bringing into my home
-- things that I cherish
-- things that are beautiful
-- things that I need and use.

Today my friend went through one box of clothes with me and helped me hang up the clothes neatly and helped me decide on a few items that I don't need that I can give a way.

I don't know if I explained that well -- I guess I am working on an explanation for myself.

I have learned to take good care of my office at work.
I want to learn to take good care of myself and my home
space.
