Default Going off line for the move to new place

Hi,
We are going to unplug tonight.
We are taking the computers to the new place tonight and placing them in a closet so that they are out of the way of the movement of furniture and boxes.

Tomorrow I will be staying out of the way of packers by myself-- starting at 8:30 am. Hubby has appts at the new place -- some A/C vents are not working perhaps due to the recent duct cleaning and so on. . . . (Trying to be calm about A/C not fully functioning --90 degrees today and this week.)

Wednesday I will be supervising the mood partly by myself -- starting at 8:30 am.
Hubby has to be at the new place so that part of the new kitchen can be installed.

(The kitchen timing stinks.
But can I also complain that hubby is STILL grading papers and has several more hours of work to do? Can I get a little witchy about that??!!! Could he have planned out his class a little better? Could we be a little more prepared for all of this?)

(Tdoc reminded me to pack an overnight back tonight so that I have my stuff with me.

We might be without the phone until Thursday -- I think hubby handled the phone company while I was in the hospital and might have gotten the date (13th) wrong. I'll check on at with the phone company.

At any rate, I'm anxious about getting back on line.

I'm depressed today.
I'm worried.
I did get a long nap in the afternoon today.

I'm using the cpap and keeping on it most nights. I don't feel any different but you could say that I am compliant.

One upside to the cpap is that it might be helping me to fall asleep. I think I am habituating myself to putting it on and going to sleep. For the past few nights, I can sort of shut down my thinking and sleep. . . . not sure if that makes sense.

But before cpap I was going to sleep as soon as I hit the bed anyway -- not sure why I am noting the difference, but it seems that the habit of putting on the cpap is helpful.

Hi,
I've been sad -- crying off and on tonight.
Hubby is very wound up and anxious and helping but mostly not.
I am really trying to be positive and hopeful about starting life in the new place. I really am. Seriously.

i'm sorry the move is so hard.
i always feel a great deal of sorrow when i leave places.

i have to walk through every empty room and look around, and say goodbye to it, before my final exit.

it doesn't matter how nice or how ratty the place was, it isn't about that.
it was mine and is about to not be any more.
it is very weird but very sad and very real and very serious.

so maybe your sadness is about something else, but i know how it is to feel terribly sad when leaving a places, fwiw.

you are allowed to be positive about the new place, and also sad about leaving - grieving - at the same time, you know. give space to each feeling.

Yes,
That is what I did the last time we moved 3 yrs ago.
I went back to the place before I turned in my key and said goodbye to each room. I thanked the place for keeping me.

As you say, it is more about leaving than anything else.
I want to be where I am already am.

He promised me, if I had to move this time, that it would be orderly and peaceful and that we could be "present" with each other. I should not have asked him to promise me something like that and he should not have agreed.

It's chaos moving with him.
And he has major issues about the idea of movers and packers.

He finally fell asleep.
As you see, we are still plugged in to the Internet and he did not finish his final exams.

The whole place will be mostly packed.
I can tip the moving crew and tell them to leave. (The bill has already been paid to the company.)

Then I will take a nap.

M.

Oh Mari,

I bet this is going rough for you. I know just how hot it's been, I wish I had seen this last night but I just now came by. I wish it would go well, it sounds like you're having a rough time though. I'm sorry for the anxiety and sadness you must be going through. I remember how hard it was to move the last time. I really am not looking forward to moving again but Jack is already looking for a house to move us into. *sigh*

I really wish moving was easier but the whole concept is just difficult. I hope things go smoothly or as smoothly as possible. Hang in there it will be done and over with soon and you'll be getting used to the new house. Hopefully it will be your last move for a long, long time. That's the good news. How long were you at this old place? We had been at the old place we just moved from for seven years. I still kinda miss it two years later. *sigh*

Glad to hear you're getting some benefit from the CPAP, it's nice that it helps with falling asleep, I know that feeling, now if I can just get back to using mine I'll be set! Hang in there Mari, post when you can. Take care.

it just seems like yesterday that you moved. I forgot what herb you should sprinkle around your place. a friend also told me to buy a turtle and face it in a certain direction. this doesn't sound like me typing lol...
all will be well...you are moving forward.

Good Luck Turtle
Feng Shui turtle sculpture, said to symbolize wealth, longevity, strength and endurance. According to Feng Shui principles the good luck turtle should be placed in the north or east sector of your home or in an office by your side (parallel to you). Never place the good luck turtle directly in front of you or in the kitchen or bathroom. Treat it with respect, and the good luck turtle is said to bestow blessings on you. Choose maroon or green (shown in thumbnail).
