Question George R.R. Martin-- anyone?

Anyone here read this series? A Song of Ice and Fire. I just did the 4 books he has out now this summer. Over 4000 pgs!

This is really a fascinating fantasy series. His writing style really makes this MORE than a typical fantasy or sci-fi type book.

It is like an adult Harry Potter series, with more complex situations. Basically I thought most of the characters were psychopaths, since they end up killing each other off. There are some heros in it too. But the "magic" is done very well, and without being goofy.

This is the wiki article about the series:

I found these books very engrossing. Martin's writing is fabulous and compelling. There is violence, but it is not overwrought.
I am lost now... waiting for book 5! sigh.
