The first episode of Season 6 was on PBS tonight....

really amazing and very funny. It starts with the wedding, and
from there --well you have to see it to believe it.

This is absolutely my favorite show on TV! Besides being guaranteed to burst out laughing at least once an episode, it's also changed my attitude towards doctors. What I wouldn't give to have one cantakerous, nasty-*** doctor like him figure out what's causing my SFN.

I love Doc Martin too. PBS sometimes runs a "making of Doc Martin" 2 hr program when they have pledge time. It is also good. This has interviews with the actors and the staff.

I like the whole show...the location, the script, the other actors, and Martin Clunes too. Everything just meshes into a wonderful show that does not even wear out with reruns! I think it is a major HOOT.
P.S. I like the episodes with the baby the most!

I just saw that "Making of..." program a couple of weeks ago. Really enjoyed it!

Yes, the whole show is just perfect. I was upset when Auntie Joan got offed, but then Ruth comes along, and I enjoy her too.

Have you see the original movie? Doc Martin was a completely different character. Same actor and all, but he didn't have the same personality. It's so much better with Martin so "unique."

I believe that the actress who played Auntie Joan, died in real life, so they had to replace her.

Martin Clunes is on YouTube on the Gordon Graham show...it is
pretty entertaining.

Thankfully, Auntie Joan...or at least the actress...is alive and well. She just didn't want to keep going with the show.

http://www.imdb.com/news/ni14258253/

She's still doing shows, just doesn't stick around in one place very long.

I'll check out Gordon Graham. Thanks!

Thank You...

I haven't watched it, but was going to ask "anyone have a recommendation on Netflix.... ".

I'd love to sleep 8 hours, but most nights grateful for three hours of sleep. Not enough to function on, but my body just decides it will not sleep (often I rest in bed for two more hours.... CPAP device requires you wear it for five hours a night, or insurance doesn't reimburse.... sigh).

Roku 3 with a headphone jack is fantastic so I let the rest of the household sleep at odd hours.

Other Netflix streaming favorites:
Wallander (both British and Swedish)
Anna Bengtzon (Swedish)
MI-5 (British). Great show, but too intense at times!

On Youtube, I'v been lucky to find quite a few "Tatort" (Crime Scene in German, yes different Cities in Germany & Austria).

I love German shows to keep up my fading knowledge of German.

Yes, some-days my life is like "50 first dates" as I find great shows and books, only to vaguely remember seeing/reading them once before.

Red face

You could try Murdoch Mysteries on Netflix (aka The Artful Detective). It is a Canadian show.

I find this show very interesting...we watch it on Ovation cable channel. I really like the actor, Yannick Bisson. And George the constable becomes better with each show. Ovation just started the series back to Season One, on Sat nights at 7pm.
If you get Ovation on cable check the online listings each week, as they rerun many seasons mixed up.

I apologize for misunderstanding the interview with Martin Clunes regarding Aunt Joan... Sometimes the accents are difficult for me to follow. I thought he said she died...and she did ON THE SHOW...and I must have misunderstood that part.

Cool Smirk

I still find it difficult to picture Martin Clunes with a mature character and Global success. To me he will always be the childish oaf in Men Behaving Badly:

An admittedly excellent comedy from the '90's. I doubt even he would have forseen himself as an International Name.

I congratulate a true English Talent.

Dave.
