Hi I am wondering if anyone has enjoyed the "Mr Selfridge"series. I watched the first series about this amazing american nicknamed "Mile a minute Harry"because he breathed his ideas into existence and was a supreme delegator. Evidently in real life, Selfridge convinced the GPO (post and communications of that time) to give hime the number 1 so all people had to do to get his department store was dial 1!! What confidence and persuasion he had (and $$$$ too)
I love the historic elements of the series - a department store in the early 1900's in England - and of course the fashion , particularly the hair and hats. The writing is quite clever as well but I just enjoy watching it! I am looking forward to series 2 coming to Australia! Cheers Aggie ![]() |
