Default The Theory of Everything

I saw this the other day and really liked it.
I find there are not alot of movies for adults out this time of year( or really any time of year!)

It is the story of Stephen Hawking as told from the memoir his wife wrote.
I did not know he had ALS because he is in his 70,s and I didn't think you could live that long with it. It is rather inspiring because he defied all odds and has led
a rather amazing life. I don't want to spoil it so won't give details, other than to say, it appears he could never have accomplished what he did without the amazing dedication of his wife.

Dealing with health issues, this movie should give everyone a shot of good old fashioned inspiration, not only for what he did, but for what she obviously did quietly in the background.

Most with ALS die within 5 years. It is amazing how he has lived so long with it. Of course, there is much more as far as his life goes. He has three children. I won't give it away. Saw the program on PBS. You can read all about him on Wiki as well. It is all very interesting. I would not want to live the way he lives now and has for some time.

I've read two of his books. Took me a while LOL

I'm not sure I'll watch the movie just yet. I do love these types of movies but I have this major problem with having actors playing people that I feel as if I have a totally different impression about. I always have to think... will I be disappointed in their portrayal. I'll maybe read the memoir before I see the movie.

He will be 73 the 8th of January. The piece I saw on PBS was totally narrated by he himself. He was 70 at the time. It was all about how his life evolved up to age 70 when he did it. There were pictures also of it all and videos. There were no actors in what I saw at all.

I know there is the movie out now where he is portrayed by someone else, etc.

Cool Smirk

Love his books and his documentaries, although my double vision now means little reading and mostly listening to tv now. My other health issues keep me away from the cinema - like a lot of us.
I AM fortunate to have satellite tv, and this past year they have added PBS as a free to air channel. Hopefully, the documentary will be scheduled over here and I can give it a look/listen. As to the film, will have to wait a few years for tv over here to show it.

Dave.

You can use your search engine and find the PBS program that he made.
