I used to read alot of fantasy novels prior to my MVA Reading is very difficult for me so I rely on audiobooks from the library to keep me entertained.

I have listened to the Game of Thrones series and enjoyed it right up til Book 5 That one was hard to get thru but probably won't be able to stop myself from listening to book 6!

Lots of good authors and series to check out so thank you all! Has anyone read Guy Gavriel Kay? He wrote the Fionavar Tapestry series and lots of other good stories.

Not me, but I looked up the author and books. Looks as if they would be something I'd enjoy as long as they're not too descriptively violent ?

Thanks for the tip.

And now my watch has ended. What drivel. The motivations of sone characters is so 180 from the books it essentially tips off they are fodder for the GRRM.

Jaime Lannister is one of my favorite characters in the novels. Brienne of Tarth as well. I severely dislike TV show Jaime.

In thd book, to the point GRRM has written, he is one of my favorite characters of a trope I won't name as I don't wish to spoil it for future readers.

I just read that American Gods is going to be a mini-series on Starz!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Americ...28TV_series%29

I did not enjoy the book much.

But I will say I found all the Time Patrol books in one big anthology (by Poul Anderson), on Ebay, for $4.00.

They are very good. I think they'd make good TV if the intelligence were preserved and not dumbed down.

Also I hear that Game of Thrones book 6 may be coming out....
This is one home that won't be buying it! Martin turned me off for good. And I am not the only one. Read some of the reviews of Book 5 on Amazon! The hardcover version of Dance of Dragons and the one star reviews! I am surprised most are still up.

I am in until I get a Jaime/Brienne resolution at least. I liked A Feast For Crows. Considering my three favorites are Jaime, Brienne and Arya. Ned is still top ten.

I like some of the nuance in the story and I would get into some of my ideas but for the fact I don't want to spoil anything. Also you are disinterested now, so I am going to have to find another book to talk about.

A general no spoiler to end. The idea of good and bad are thrown to the wolves. You'll be dogged by uncertainty, nay hounded, "I may have to watch stag. My wife is kraken over all the lion going on." Draggon on, isn't it?

Too many puns on characters and houses of westeros? It's not black and white.
