I've added Riding With the King to my Playlist - over an hour to listen to, thanks. As for Ride the River, it is just my kind of music. Dave.

Ah, Keith Richards! Hmmm, sorry, but I have a negative bias, never a Stones fan
Dave.

I understand, although I have in the past watched him jamming with other musicians though, and also some solo and even acoustic sessions and he's a master.
What I find interesting about many of these people mentioned is their different styles. Clapton has talked about how much he admired Jeff Beck for example, and how he felt he could literally pull the music out of the instrument. I agree. Such a different style of playing. Many appear so effortless too and some not so much. I also wonder about Gary Moore. Left handed naturally, but learned to play right handed. How difficult. I wonder about how that affected his unique style and if he would have been so great if he'd learned guitar as a leftie. All very interesting to me. |

…And no two more clashing styles than Hendrix and old Slowhand himself. EC's Nickname says it all.
Dave.

I had not heard of Dinosaur Jr, listened/watched (my eyes, you know) to 30 mins of a Session. Excellent.
Dave.

I'm going to try and narrow it down to my top ten Dinosaur Jr songs and share them later, Dave.

So, at the start of this Thread I asked where the next Greats were coming from - and they MAY be coming from the UK (still).
Sky Arts have started a prog - Guitar Star - to find the new Greats from every discipline. Here is 12 year old Alfie Glass as a taster: Alfie Glass | Rock Audition | Guitar Star: http://youtu.be/HBd6rksRK3Q Just a stand-out based on age, we have everything from Classical to Slide Blues. Not every kid here is holed up playing on their X-Box or phones. Dave.
