Most of my favorites are from the 70's. I was a teenager then and listened to the radio more often then.

My favorites are Pete Townsend from The Who, Angus Young from AC/DC, Joe Walsh from The Eagles, Joe Perry from Aerosmith and my all time favorite Peter Frampton!!

Outlaw and Kitty,

Cannot argue with any of those picks. Let's all argue about the order of a top 100

Dave.

I just watched Jason Becker's trailer, talk about hear wrenching =*( So amazing to see parents (especially his Dad).

Like I said earlier, there is always someone worse off.

We forgot John Lee Hooker

and Duane Allman.
[When I was young I had a friend who played a silver Dobro. It was such a beautiful instrument.]

Billy Thorpe was a great guitarist.

Tommy Emmanuel (acoustic genius)

John Mayer is a great guitarist. I have all his music. His reputation precedes him unfortunately.

Andy,

Grohl is excellent, Gary Clark Jr's Blues speak to my Soul. I will have to listen to Royal Blood, not sure about Creed and Tremonti, they never touched me.

Dave.

Im new to Gary Clark Junior, but hooked straight away. Brilliant. He was recommended on this site if memory serves me right... Royal Blood are excellent. Bit played to death by Radio One, but their sound is unique.

Creef/Alter Bridge sound great. Some tracks not so much & tbh, I never really cared for their 'message', I just like their sound...
