I grew up watching some Tom Baker when PBS programming bled over from programs as a child.
My wife is a bit of a Whovian, so it brought me back into the fold. I am enraptured with Peter Capaldi's take. I am excited for the next season. Anyone else ready?

Hey Jon,
I watched it in the late 60s. Most of it was still showing here in Australia in black and white even though the film was in colour because we didn't have colour television. I quite liked it in black and white, especially those old daleks. It also originally had an "A" rating, meaning at that time it was only suitable for adults which is quite hilarious I think. I'm surprised I was allowed to watch it. There's an interesting but very long wiki page about Doctor Who in Australia describing what they call "the history and culture" of the show in Australia since January 1965. Some of it is quite funny with decriptions of the film being shipped from city to city after it originally aired. It was very BIG here. |

Hi Jon,
Missed your Post first time, sorry. I am a huge Dr Who fan, Classic and Modern. Of the Classics, Tom Baker was my Favourite, but I watched them all. Moderns, Ecclestone was the best, Smith grew into the role, Tennant had good storylines. Capaldi is different, much older, as were the 2 original Doctors William Hartnell and Patrick Troughton. I reserve judgement until a second Season and a Christmas Special. Dave.
