Saw Mamma Mia. Grew up in the 70's. Loved the music. Thought the plot was a little lame, but it was worth seeing.
Would have liked to see Sex in the City, but it didn't stay in our small theatre long, and I didn't want to drive. Will rent it when it comes out on video. My DH thinks Sex in the City is "disgusting", but he's never watched any of the episodes on TV. He didn't even know that some of the characters were (sometimes) married. Just assumes it over-emphasizes promiscuity. My take on it, is that most of the characters really do want a meaningful relationship, and that's what they are searching for. They are just having trouble finding it, and often going about it in the wrong ways. I also like the emphasis on the female friendships -- how they are there for each other. ~ Faith
