The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahari. She also has a book of short stories that's excellent.
The Namesake won the Pulitzer prize. I'm still in the middle of this book and it's becoming a page turner. ![]() Her stories involve the displacement that happens when you move to a different country, and all of the different situations that affect your life when you live as an outsider in a society. The characters are from India, or some USA-born Indians interacting with others who have come here from India. She's an amazing writer! ![]()
