I saw this on the news.....so sad. I liked watching "The Deadliest Catch". I never knew how rough a job it was till I started watching this program.

I saw this earlier. Makes me sad. He was one of the best on the show.

Dh told me the other day. What a bummer! I was so rooting for him, making it past that pulminary embolism. Who does that? He was really a good guy, didn't let the show go to his head. Treated his deck hands like family, and you could see how much he loved his boys (even when he wanted to throttle them).

RIP, Capt Phil.

Default Gonna Miss You

I think if Sigs not careful he may be next, sitting there smoking cigarette after cigarette and the stress of making your quota. I thought the icy cold sea would be the big barrier but it's not. That may be the easiest job on the boat, facing the icy cold sea, if there's such a thing as an easy job on a crab boat. I'll miss you Phil and I hope you realize how proud your boys were of you. You were a good dad.

legal - I was thinking the same thing after that one show. All those hours just sitting there is murder on the vascular system even for a nonsmoker. Sig was not looking so good, having chest pain and such.

Let's hope all of them take this as a serious warning. Including his boys. These are nice guys who don't deserve death at such a young age. They have one of the deadliest jobs, I hope they all find the strength not to smoke and add to the danger. Take care of your bodies guys, a lot of people love you.

I am from Australia and both hubby and I love watching the deadliest catch. We are lucky because when it's the off season over in the Nortern hemisphere we found that we also had deadliest catch from New Zealand which can be halarious at times and other times terrifying. We look forward to seeing programs from each hemisphere which are a little different to each other.

If you want to know more I found the website
