Heck no. I wait all year for a new season of Deadliest Catch. That is one of my favorite shows. I am completely addicted to it. I have watched every season so far. Have you ever watched After the Catch where the captains all sit around in a bar with the host Mike Rowe and talk about the season and their lives? That is really cool, too.

My favorite crew is on the Northwestern. I just love Edgar Hanson. He is such a nut. His brother is such a smart *****, too. I also really like Phil Harris, but his sons get on my nerves sometimes. I really love the Time Bandit guys, too. Oh heck, I think I love them all.

I love the pranks they all play on each other. The best ones are when one boat messes with another boat like when they attached a truck to one of the Cornelia Marie's buoys. Someone also did that with an outhouse, but I don't remember who did it.

Great show with crazy, bad to the bone, hard working guys. Their whole way of life is mindblowing. I'd better go make sure the TiVO knows a new season is beginning.

LOL! The outhouse episode!

They just had a recap of the one where Edgar made a dummy and dropped it down the wheel house window.

Sig knew it wasn't a real person, though, cuz the legs were all tangled when it slid down. He should have played along. I said to dd that Sig should have yelled "Help him, Edgar! You can't let him drown, knowing he's really the father of your kids!"

I love those two.

Remember the flour bag bomb?

My fave After the Catch was when they were talking about their superstitions.

And Cap't Phil..... I wonder what happens with him? Crazy he lived through a pulminary embolism, tough ol' goat!

Hey Brain..our very own Steve on the PD forum was a real life fisherman. A crabber. He has some wonderful pictures and stories.

I'll have to give him a link to this thread.

Cool!

I also have a friend (w/ms) who works in a refinery - another of the top 5 most dangerous jobs.

I'm trying to decide if my most dangerous job was the dairy farm or the bakery. I once had to catch a loose bull - I was 13 and 75 lbs.

But then again, all those donuts!

Yup Phil is a tough old dude, huh? Also very blessed. Their superstitions are a big part of the show. Especially with the Hansons and I think it is Phil that won't leave port on a Friday. Sig is always talking about bad juju. They are a wild bunch and I can hardly wait for another season.
