Default The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova

Hello fellow book lovers,

I spent all day yesterday reading this book, which I got for a gift. It's almost 700 pages long, but I couldn't put it down. I have to recommend it! It's about Dracula, but it's not cheesy or silly. It's fascinating. It's so good that for a moment I forgot it was fiction. It is a good book for anyone who likes stories about quests, Dracula, and books. I wouldn't call it horror though. I know it's a book I'll be reading many times. It also has a lot of suspense and adventure & takes place in interesting settings all over the world. After I finished it, I did some research, and it was apparently a NY Times best seller, been published in 40 languages, and a movie of the book will come out in
2010.

Has anyone read this book? If so, what did you think?

I tried to download a sample from Amazon to see if I wanted to purchase it (I love my Kindle, only one hand works so I can't hold books or turn pages, but now I can read again!!!) I'll try again tomorrow

I read this a while ago, and i loved it.. it is def. a "keeper" book. It was wonderfully written, and it really did just sweep you up and keep you hooked till the end.

Yay, Macophile, I'm so glad you liked it. My copy has been passed to four people already! It's long, but like you said, it's a page turner. I've always wanted a really cool study, and this book has inspired me.
